This is a four-wheeled robot chassis, rolling around at -30 deg F at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Shepherd robot is an omni-directional vehicle that executes 3DOF motions. This motion is a combination of a linear translational motion and a rotation motion, which is not possible by normal robots. Each wheel of Shepherd has two degrees of freedom, steering and driving.
