Brothers Season 6 (1989-1990) Intro - Rough Edit Video
A sneak peek at a supposed sixth season of Brothers, with some major changes in store. First off, althought you won't see his name in this rough edit of the intro, Brad Grey becomes the new executive producer. Grey adds a fourth, long-lost brother to the Waters clan, none other than Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters playing himself.
Philip Charles MacKenzie departs for the starring role on the Brothers spin-off series, L.A. Maltby, also airing on Showtime. Needing a replacement resident queen, Grey hired a real-life swish with three names -Charles Nelson Reilly, who plays Darwin Sweetwater, a restaurant mogul who tries to buy The Point After. Unscrupulous, Darwin has a romantic interest in Cliff and tries to woo him - and work him down - in order to seize the restaurant from him and Joe. Also moving up to the opening credits are Yeardley Smith as Louella Waters, and Timothy Williams as Mike Chandler, whenever he appears.
Although the usual opening theme is used here, a remixed version of the theme was used in season six, jazzed up even more with vocals by Michael McDonald. In the McDonald version, the line "ain't it good to know we're three" becomes "ain't it good to know we're a team" with the inclusion of "brother" Roger Waters.
