Nick's POV.
A questionable amount of time later, we haven't moved or said a word. My tears have dried, and I assume hers have as well, but I cant be sure. Right as I'm about to see how she's doing, my brother walks down the hallway. He stares at me with shock etched in his features. I smile weakly and feel tears sting in my eyes again.
"Nick?" Kevin whispers. He kneels down beside me. When Auden doesnt react, I assume she's fallen asleep. I stroke her back softly.
"What time is it?" I ask quietly. Kevin looks at his watch.
"Eight. We were all extremely worried about you, but I wanted to give you time..." Kevin replies. I calculate the time in my head; two hours. It thoroughly surprises me that no one was sent for me earlier. With Alex-the-Maniac on the loose, I would've expected them to be a little more cautious. As if he can reads minds, Kevin addresses this.
"Mom and Dad wanted to send someone after you after the first ten minutes I told them not to, cause I thought you'd still be with her," Kevin explains quietly. I nod thankfully.
"She knows Summer... She knows about Summer and me, and knows Summers missing..." I whisper. Kevin's eyes grow wide and his jaw falls open. I nod.
"I know... But she's for real," I whisper surely. Kevin looks at me.
"How do you know?" he questions.
"My gut." There's really nothing other I can say. That's the only reason I know she's for real
"I believe you." I'm glad Kevin believes me, it'll be easier that way when I try to bring her back to the room. Suddenly, Auden stirs. She sits up and I push a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I'm sorry I fell asleep..." she apologizes. She then notices Kevin and blushes.
"Sorry," she says again. Kevin waves her apology away and smiles at her encouragingly.
"Auden..." I start slowly. She looks at me and I lock eyes with Kevin. I then look back into the familiar eyes and sigh.
"How do you know Summer?" I ask, forcing it out. My voice cracks on her name, like I expected it to.
"We're cousins. We're really close; she's like a sister to me. When her dad called, I flew out immediately..." she trails off and looks away.
"You look like her. You have the same eyes," I note. Auden looks back at me and I see those eyes are rimmed with fresh tears.
"I know." Thats all she says, and it's strange.
"Nick... I came here to come get you. I'm sorry, Auden," Kevin says after a moment of silence. I look at him for a split second, then turn my attention back to Auden.
"Auden... Will you come with me, I mean, us? I'd really like to talk to you..." I ask, sounding slightly desperate. Auden creases her forehead and it looks like she thinks about it.
"Yeah, okay," she agrees. I don't smile, but I'd like to. We all stand up. Auden brushes off the butt of her black shorts and smoothes out her plain, white, long sleeved tee. We all stand up, and I notice that Auden is taller than I expected. I glance down at her feet to see if she's wearing heels. She's barefoot. It makes me wonder, but I don't really take the time to think about it.
We reach our hotel room pretty quickly, since we weren't situated that far from it anyway. I place my hand on the small of Auden's back as I lead her to our room. Kevin knocks on the door rapidly, and almost immediately the door opens, revealing a pajama-clad Molly. She quickly pulls me inside and into a hug.
"I know it was only two hours, but I was so worried," she gushes into my ear. I hug her back with one arm and pull away soon after.
"Mom, I'm going to be in the other room for a minute, okay?" I say quickly. Molly looks at Kevin curiously and he shrugs unknowingly.
"Okay, Nick," Mom replies after looking at me. I close the door behind us and hope no one saw Auden yet. I'd like to talk to her in private, first. We walk to the next door and I slide the card through the reader. The little light flashes green and I push down the handle. The door swings open and I step aside to let Auden in. She shyly tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and walks into the dark room. I flick on the lights and we stand across from each other. There's some kind of tension in the room I cant quite place. Auden then looks up from the floor and I happen to see right into her eyes. And for a split second, all I see are her eyes; Summers eyes. An unbearable pain stabs me in my heart and I gasp.

madison50364: Nick obviously really needs to know everything he can about Summer right now. It's killing him to look at Auden since she looks much like her. Poor boy. I hope that Auden has information that can help him find her and bring her back to safety. That would be great. But at least Nick has a little piece of Summer there with him. He needs everything he can get. Wonderful. Hope you get more inspiration soon.

But then again this feeling can be totally wrong with this feeling. Amazing chapter!
