Engine 143 - Lee Paxton Video

Lee Paxton (me) performing "Engine 143" on October 26, 2009. This song is a traditional folk song about The Wreck on the C&O, a real train accident that took place near Hinton, West Virginia, on October 23, 1890. The engineer, George Alley, was killed when his train hit a boulder that had fallen on the tracks. Perhaps the most famous version of this song was recorded by the Carter Family around 1928.

I'm currently working on an album of classic songs, and this is a live example of one of the possible songs which may be on that album. The album will be called "Vultures", and if you're interested, check the following link for updates: http://sassjoy.aesound.com/vultures.shtml
