-nick's POV

I heard Selena scream and I looked around frantically, I ran round the side of the house and tried the backdoor. It was unlocked and I pushed it open quietly. I crept silently through the kitchen and looked through the door. Selena was slumped against the wall with Zac holding her up by her throat. I could feel the anger building up and I walked up behind Zac and wrapped my arm around his neck. He let go off Selena and she fell onto the floor. Zac gasped as I tightened my hold, I felt him sag beneath my arm and I let go of him. He fell to the floor with a 'thud'. I quickly knelt down next to Selena and brushed her hair from her face, "Selena, wake up.." I mumbled softly. Her eyes stayed closed so I raised her up in my arms and carried her into the bedroom, laying her softly on the bed. I turned round to see Zac and the door with Demi in his arms. I saw a glint of metal and realised he was holding a knife to her throat. I sucked in a ragged breath,
"Let go of her," I choked out.
Zac laughed and walked closer to me, dragging Demi with him. She stared at me frantically, tears streaming down her face. I quickly glanced behind me, Selena's eyes were still closed.
"What do you want, Zac?" I asked through clenched teeth.
"The girl," Zac replied, jerking his head in Selena's direction.
"No!" I growled, moving so my body was between Zac and Selena.
"Then baby sister dies," Zac smirked, pressing the knife against the skin.
"NO!" I yelled.
"Just let him take me," I heard Selena whisper. I spun round to see her climbing off the bed.
"No," I repeated, twisting my head from Selena to Demi.
"Just, let me go, Nick." Selena whispered, pushing past me. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to me,
"I won't- I can't let you go." I whispered.
She pulled her wrist away from my grip, "Your gonna have to," She replied before walking to the door. Zac pushed Demi into my arms and quickly followed Selena, pulling her out the room. I looked down at Demi, tears were streaming down her face and she was staring after Selena.
"You can't let her go, Nick!" she told me urgently, I nodded in agreement and grabbed Demi's hand.
"I'm not leaving you again." I said rushing out the room, Demi close behind. The front door was open, hitting against the wall softly in the breeze. We ran out into the cold and saw Zac throwing Selena in the back of a van half way down the road. We quickly got into my car and I turned on the engine, following Zac as he pulled away and began to drive dangerously down the road.
"Put your seatbelt on, Dems." I commanded as I drove faster after the white van. Demi shakily strapped her seatbelt around her body and leant her head back against the seat, taking deep breaths. "I can't believe she did that for me," Demi breathed quietly. I quickly glanced at her and saw fresh tears spilling from her eyes.
"She gave up her life for me, and she doesnt even know me." Demi muttered more to herself than to me.
"I think thats why she did it," I whispered back.
"What do you mean?" Demi questioned.
"Zac is after her, she isn't going to let an innocent person die for her. She's not like that." I explained, admiration clear in my voice
Demi nodded slowly, "You love her." It wasn't a question.
"Yes." I answered gazing out of the window.
