FGW 12.32 Non-Stop Reading to Exeter Train Video

This train was 10 minutes late leaving Reading and it was certainly shifting!
This was taken at 1.53pm today (6th Nov 2009)
It was only 3 minutes late arriving at Exeter St Davids, (arrived 2.12pm) so the entire Journey took just 90 minutes instead of the usual 97.

I make that an AVERAGE speed of about 93mph, which is not bad.
Notice how the train shakes the bridge as it passes underneath.
This footbridge is only about 2.5 miles west of Taunton station so most HS125 & Voyager trains are probably accelerating or braking rather than flat out.

I think the line speed is 100mph at this point so I'd guess that was the speed the train was going. I'd guess they are pretty strict about enforcing the limits as when I travel along this section with a GPS it never seems to go over 100mph.
