Tales of Vesperia PS3 - Team Battle Arena: Merciless Rank (2/2) Video

*SPOILERS WARNING*

First of all, yes I'm overleveled, this is actually hard the first time you do it. This recording was for fun anyway :P

This is easily the best extra on the PS3 version, had such a good time doing this.

The Merciless Rank is the last level of the team battle arena, this one works similar to other tales' team battles in coliseums. But this is my fav team battle arena in all the tales games I have played, mostly because after the 3 first teams you start fighting teams that are IMPORTANT and not just random monsters.

The Dream Team (Cameo Team):
Dhaos, Shizel, Barbatos and Kratos join forces to make the ultimate team of chaos and destruction. I think its pretty obvious that you should kill Barbatos as soon as possible, or else bring Repede to use items (and even THAT can be tricky), otherwise you will regret it. After that I think you should focus on Dhaos since he has Tidal Wave and Dhaos Blast which cover a lot of range, but thats up to you really, I have beaten this doing any order AFTER beating Barbatos first, he must DIE first. No kidding.

and you would think with that it would be over, right? well Namco was kind enough to give us the ultimate surprise for the last team battle...

Team Brave Vesperia:
The party members you left out of this will unite and fight against you, this is possibly the coolest concept of this team battle arena. Also, here the point is proven, Karol is the powerhouse of your party, seriously look at the damage! and this is hard, just imagine Unknown (and I'm gratefull he didn't do his 2nd MA, that Nuke is instant kill on Estelle and Patty). Anyway you are better off killing Karol first, seriously, then kill whoever you want. If Estelle is in Brave Vesperia then she should be your top priority due to healing and resurrection spells. I still would say the 2nd most dangerous person would be Rita, but yeah, she didn't get to do much here LOL.

After this you get the Limit Octect which will increase your OVL bar up to 8. Which will make possible for you to get 2 people to OVL 4 at the same time, though as you know there are easier ways LOL *cough*Critical Moment*cough*

PS: not like it really matters since Namco did a good job with this team battle arena already, but including the Flynn Brigade after the Hunting Blades would have been so much win, specially cause we would be able to kick Sodia's ass for good XD

asndarknessdragon: No, its not tiring at all. I enjoy reading thoughts like these. It's true that it can be done and its been proven many times. Namco made sure its winnable, that is given. For example, Tales of Heart's secret boss on Very Hard and Unknown, spams her MA every 30 seconds if you attack her from the ground, and it is a guaranteed kill for all characters in front of her. However, you have the auto healing stone for revival and aerial attack spam to counter it.

asndarknessdragon: Now it's my turn to apologize if I'm rambling as well XD. The problem with farming for stats is that 1) it takes too long or 2) it doesn't help. Ex. Duke in Unknown can be soloed in less than a minute each. The problem is that the skills needed to do so is very obscure (It is Yuri's combination skills that make this possible to deal over 4 million damage in 1 strike, but no one uses this because its "useless"). What I'm saying is that the way around is tedious for normal gamers to figure out.

VanishMantle: Ah don't sweat it too much i get what you mean. i guess that is what makes these games so popular with the fans are those time consuming task such as stat farming or what not. I get what you mean i was looking int that skill combo for a bit... but that meant changing my yuri up just to achieve it. I have always been more partial to combos/hits in the tales of games over straight up power. You are right for the most part Farming does not help and by the time you are finished you leveled a lot.

VanishMantle: I know for myself i was farming stats for the 3rd duke just so i could beat him. Took me like 3 days and then a friend suggest i just farm grade and exp. took my about a few hours and i was done. But yeah most newcomers to the tales series would find things like that to be a pain or irratating. For the most part i can see why Namco Remakes the games with ad-ons or the like. Kind like throwing us a bone and keeping the newcomers happy as well. I just wish they would release mor remakes in the US.

UnknownJudgment: The only way I could see that happening is if Patty used Critical Moment and gave all enemies OL4.

zethla: True, its kind of hard to set up in the first place, huh? It'd be the biggest slap in the face if it did happen, but the chances are incredibly slim to none.
