pilotguy87: Thats an SM 465 man. Very stout trannsmissions. They are perfect for crawling and pulling. I've got one in my 78 4x4 pick up attached two a 205 tansfer case. Its unbelievable what that truck is capable of with that set up. Good tranny man.
DRNEGOLICIS: ha ha thanks ive been trying to figure out what tranny it is i want to put a transfercase behind it but idk about the adapter to connect them both makeing a cross memeber is no problem for me being a welder a shitty one at that lol im a pop corn welder with good penetration but once ground down its all good
pilotguy87: You'll have to replace the mainshaft to make the adapter work. They put different main shafts in the 2wd versions which have output shafts that aren't compatible with the transfer case adapters. This is, of course, if you were to do it the way the factory did.
DRNEGOLICIS: im going to look around in junk yards at the trannys and trans case im wondering if i can just put a u joint on the trans case and bolt it up to the end of my trannys ujoint. on the 4wheel drive versions is the trans case bolted to the tranny or is it two pice with a adapter?
