Me: What do you want to talk about.
Kevin: About what happened.
Me: You kicked me out. There's nothing more to it.
Kevin: I have regretted that since the words came out of my mouth.
Me: And it's taken you a month to come back and apologize?
Kevin: At first I was angry. Then I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me.
Me: I called you everyday for a week.
Kevin: I thought you were calling to ask for Uncle Nick to become your legal gaurdian.
Me: And you were just going to let him?
Kevin: *sighs* No. No. I just didn't think. *looks at her* Baby, when you ran out I felt like I was a bad father. I should've told you how serious me and Natalie were. And then kicking you out when I found out you had sex...not a smooth move on my part. I should've let you explain.
Me: But you didn't. You just kicked me out.
Kevin: Well I want you to explain now.
Me: *sighs* It was the night before he died and he was laying in bed next to me and when I asked if he was afraid of dying he said no. Because he had done everything he could have possibly wanted. Except get married and have sex....so it just hit me. I should do it. I love him, he loves me. And I thought it would bring us closer.
Kevin: *looks into her eyes* So you didn't do it out of hormones? And he didn't pressure you?
Me: Nope.
Kevin: Oh God. Why did I not just listen.
Me: You were afraid.
Kevin: Yeah. I was.
Me: I was too. Of you falling in love again.
Kevin: Why?
Me: I thought if you fell in love and got a new family you'd push me aside.
Kevin: *takes Cara's chin so she's looking at him* Cara Kristen Jo Nicolette Jonas, you listen to me. Nothing will EVER push you aside, OK? You are my baby girl and I would never let anything ruin that. Not a baby, not a new son, not a new love. YOU are always going to be in my heart.

I felt the tears come to my eyes and I colapsed in his arms sobbing.

Me: I love you Daddy.
Kevin: Oh I love you too baby. *wraps arms around her and pulls her close*
Me: I don't care if you love Natalie. She's nice.
Kevin: I'm glad honey. *looks at her* And we're getting married.
Me: Oh my God? Seriously?
Kevin: Yeah.
Me: When?
Kevin: We're trying to go for December.
Me: Daddy that's amazing!
Kevin: Really?
Me: Yeah. *smiles and wipes tears away* I'm gonna come home.
Kevin: I'm glad.
