"When I Look At You"- Jemi Story Rated R- Epi.6 Video

The day I met Joe didn't really seem like much to begin with, but something deep inside of me knew that we would be together forever. We had so much in common, and it seemed we could talk for hours, just doing nothing. I didn't really know at the time, but Joe and I would be getting ourselves into alot of shit in the future, but I'll get onto that a bit later.

"Mom, please, I'm begging you, please!" I whined.
"We don't know this city Demetria! I'm not letting you roam around the streets by yourself, you are to stay here and watch Dallas. Now go sit in the audience, she's about to go on." she said excitedly.
"Oh joy!" I muttered sarcastically after rolling my eyes.
I trudged darkly through backstage, parting my way through racks of poofy dresses and skimpy swimsuits, and extremely orange girls decked out in rhinestoned jewellery.
I would never be caught dead in a place like this. Blantantly ignoring my mothers wishes, I headed straight for the first exit sign I could see.
"Excuse me darling, are you lost? The stage is this way." I was confused. Was that woman talking to me? I turned around.
"Uh no, does it look like I would be in this stupid pageant?" I said rudely, glaring at the woman.
"I-I uh, sorry I didn't mean to upset you, you are very beautiful miss, one could be easily mistaken." she said a little too sweetly for my liking.
"Um, yeah ok sure." I said, before continuing to make my way out the door. As soon as I was out of sight, I couldn't help but smile slightly. No one has ever called ME beautiful before. It was always Dallas. She was the beautiful one. I was just Demi.

"I wanna wake up feelin' beautiful, today..." I whispered as I made my way down an unfamiliar street.
I ended up getting somewhat lost, which is understandable, but I made my way down a boardwalk, which was busy. I assumed everyone was here for a reason, so I followed. Turns out I ended up on a pier, built over a turquoise ocean that was shimmering in the afternoon sun. It was pretty much deserted, and as the crowds started to die down, I finally got the peace I was looking for.
I sat at the end of the pier and dangled my feet into the crystal water, after rolling up my black jeans.
"Summer came it took me by surprise, the California sunshine in my eyes.." I sang, perhaps maybe a little too loud this time.
"Wow, nice voice, I guess your not just a pretty face." A husky, yet warm voice came from behind me.
