Why do we need to look younger than we are Video

There is nothing wrong with beauty, but, why do we need to look younger then we are?
Botox, silicon, gyms... Gyms are ok if you want to make some exercices but... not to body
building, and things that we see people spending hours just to pretend to be younger.

So, i'd like to hear your opinion on, why do we always need to
look younger then we are.

Because we can be younger at heart and if you accept that, with age comes some changes or some
things to our body, we are getting very happy, because we are getting older.
But of course, the other option of getting older is to die.

So, i'm looking for your opinion on why do this world ask to societies to pretend everybody is
younger then he or she really is.

Tahnk you.

RESTLINXXX: old at heart but i musnt hesitate if i am to find my own way out....
Solivagus10: I think it's to do with a fear of death. Media and entertainment tend to focus on the twenty-somethings of this world (and late teens now). Some people (maybe most people) feel that when they age beyond the twenty-something target demographic, they are no longer part of life or the world and thus feel closer to death. Also, through the influence of media and entertainment, we are told/shown that youth and vitality is to be valued above all else.
jabuka889: Society creates such a trends and it's the same case with fashion. If you are not strong enough, you'll easily fall out for every new one. On the other side, people are constantly refusing to work on their inside, to read, to learn, to practise, to do some corrections, so it's not suprising me even these kind of reactions. Problem here is cause some gym, silicons or etc. would solve their problem in a week or two (well, let's say even month), but what after???
MrJampy93: Maybe people want to impress others just to make them say.. "oh you're very beautiful with your body and you are in the right way tring to pretend to be younger that you are because if someone sees you in the way you should be young.. because old man are not good. they're old in their mind".. this can be a possibility! greetings from italy =))
tanjush68: i believe that the signs of age makes you look tired. elder you get, more tired you look. and it makes think of the death which is coming closer, elder you get. 'cause people doesn't want to get closer to their end, they try to look younger then they are. cause the projection of your appearence will make you feel younger. the second thing es sexual attraction. younger you are, bigger choices you have. i am trying to give away my youth with proudnes.
mootopia: I already look younger than I am, so I don't personally "try" to look younger. But I sometimes "act" younger, as in I like to bring out my playfulness, my innocence, and spontaneity. For me, it's a way to counteract my peers' obsession with maturity and sophistication, and bring some balance into play-- there's time for seriousness, but we often ignore the time for fun and lightheartedness. I hope that when I'm an old lady, that I'll still be childlike.
TheHybred1: Traditionally, marks of beauty were synonymous with marks of youth. For instance, large eyes, smooth supple skin, high rosy cheeks, plump red lips, etc. This is why in seeking beauty, people will try to preserve these features and undo their signs of aging.
girlspring: Because most people have the illusion that they can be younger in the soul too. They may have a thousand botox but as soon as you look into their eyes, u can see their real age, their soul age which they can not hide.. Because they seem to forget that eyes are always the mirror of the soul.
emelim50: I think that (majority) women are obsessed to look younger... It's nice to get older, but TV & magazines influence us very much... furthermore I think, the men have a lot of guilt !!! --> because the most of them are interested in younger women... ( I´m sorry thats a fact)...
loulaziz: The society give value only to productive people and once you are old you are not that productive so you are ignored and put aside... So people are afraid to be treated that way in the other side, these effect of "oldness" makes us think about maybe our hour is comming so we are like deluding ourself that no we are still young...we still hold on life so it's not about people only i guess but also about ourselfs , trying to convince oneself yeah we are sstill worth ...
loulaziz: Women especially are more concerned about that, cause during all their life they have been objectified ...appreciated just because of their appearence and not their soul our what they really are, sso their self esteem is about what they look and not what they are , so one time they are loosing their appreciated appearence, they are loosing a part of them and their self esteeem so they are trying to keep it as much as possible
loulaziz: In some oriental countries, as much as the person get older as much they are more appreciated, cause they represent a source of experience for others and source of wisdom 'sometimes" The woman is very valued and loved once she is a grandma , and not throwned in a hospice for elderly people :( makes me sad when i see these elderly people living alone, just because anyone wants to care for them" while they cared for their children asking for no reward of anyone
awebermorales: I love what girlspring said: "as soon as you look into their eyes, u can see their real age, their soul age which they can not hide..." I think there are some brilliant movements afoot to counteract the obsession with false youthfulness. I think it depends on where you live, too -- what country, what city, what culture. I personally love some signs of age and dislike others. I love crow's feet around the eyes, in a woman or man. To look like you have lived life fully is a good thing!
Sazede: Most people Have the "superficial view" of Beauty that is how they were taught !when we think about it most of the outside beauty never last and what is left is you, your personality who you really are & if someone base his whole life fixing his outside beauty he will always run after botox or plastic surgery because real beauty last forever which is inside and it's what makes us attractive !
ievute92: Umm,,,i am young now,so I dont really undestand why people need that, but I think, because young person, with smooth, nice, elastic scin looks perfect, and everyone wants to look nice...Its my opinion,I dont know, its true or not... BTW - Nice vid!
maifaraj87: all humans need to be the pivot !!! this is the nature of human beings!!
nawlinsdawg: It's not the getting older that's so bad, it's the falling apart! Genetically, we're programmed to seek out the best DNA we can, and our bodies are at their most perfect when young and resilient. Later in life, we still desire to prolong our sexually desirable years, since sex is our strongest physical sensation. Therefore, we seek to prolong our youth, the time of our lives in which we're at our most sexual and we have the most ability to attract others physically.
47keiyar47: because it is not nice when you are slower or weaker or being so fragile..
zendotavern: 65, I am happier with my looks than when I was young. With new found discipline at age fifty, my mind and body became more synchronized. I understand the B. Dylan line, "ah i was so much older than/ I'm younger than that now." But your question is about seeking an image of youth, not a youthful mind. Given the vastly greater physical toll on many women & some men, the question cannot always be asked fairly. Lust and desire for the smooth, tautness of youth do not go away.
Gabriela2008Madelein: I think we just have to do gym or aerobic... No I dont like to change our bodies with implants...which,...may not have a positive effect on our body!.. :( We are gettin older, everybody does..and if you want to refuse to belive..then.. Well, then..there is NO THEN! :) :) hehee.hee
bebitje: Because media brainwashed them believe that they will become happier? Maybe because they are scared of getting old and see it as a bad thing connected to death? Or maybe just because as you grow old others can easy see what kind of person you are or where. The wrinkles in a face can tell is you have been happy, worried and so on. Takeing the wrinkles away is a way to hide who you really are. But what do I know, I'm only 24 =)
daydreamer279: Today´s society compels people to hold on to that concept of "ideal beauty", trying to grasp their younger selfs. However, i believe that the reason that happens comes from a need to be noticed. In a world where the distance between people makes bonds a rare gift, the phisical beauty becomes a means to catch the desired atention. Other reason, I believe, is that people still have some dificultty in dealing whit their imminent mortalaty. Holding on to the younger years is just a form of denial
