Saving Stories and Sharing History from World War II (Sennheiser Sound Tour Video Entry) Video

Please vote for us by entering email address at http://www.sennheisersoundtour.com/?sid=268#hookUp-experience Our dream Sennheiser Sound Tour would be traveling around the United States interviewing World War II veterans. These people lived through an amazing time in our history and we're losing them at an alarming rate. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing history from the people who lived it. We have found veterans in our community who gave us first hand accounts. Our interviews have included a medic who saved the lives of both soldiers and civilians during the war as well as a gunner who one of the first to see a Nazi concentration camp. Our most recent veteran is named Sam Antonio, a Native American soldier, who was a prisoner of war (POW). He survived three and half years in captivity and has incredible stories to tell. We used Sennheiser equipment to record his audio and featured him in our entry.

My Creative Media students at New Mexico State University Grants campus helped as crew for these projects. Marcos Prieto, Dorothy Grace, Rachelle Simpson and Tim Brown worked on the Sam Antonio project with me.

We've had a successful series and recently won an Emmy Award for our documentary called Saving Lives in World War II (honored in the Rocky Mountain region for Advanced Media Historical Documentary).

This series has been featured by Apple Tunes as well as by YouTube. We are developing a website at http://www.warveterans.tv where we hope to create an interactive project where people can learn history from the ones who lived it.
