kaptainsteve: This bill is just a big GIANT tax brought to us by the party/man who promised not to tax us. If it wasn't, they would just pass a bill giving healthcare to the 15 million or so who don't have it. BTW, everyone in Amerika gets health SERVICE for free already. dmdum: I am of jewish faith. I am embarrased by the democratic jews in the house (Waxman, Schwatz,etc..) and democratic jews in the Senate (Levine, Schummer, Feinstein) who passed this in the house and who will vote for it in the senate. However, I do have fait in this jewsih (I) Senator from CT that he will do what he says and will not allow this disaster to occur. If I went to my local Symogouge here in NJ, I am almost positive that not one single jewish person there wants this garbage bill.

lordhighexecutioner: This man knows nothing of history. The 1937 economic crisis was caused by deficit and debt mania, the silly idea that the deficit and debt must be addressed first. If they do as he says there will be another economic contraction as there was in 1937. As for saving money, cut out the 30% cut for the insurance racket.

fastard154: @lordhighexecutioner the depression was caused by a governmentish agency controlling the interest rates. these low rates caused a bubble that collapsed. the politicians refused to let the recession happen, and their big government spending policies (like Hoover trying to pay the bonuses to WW1 troops) sent us into a depression. before the depression the US federal government had a yearly surplus. we should stop spending on unconstitutional government programs that damage the economy.

MrQuestionAuthority: Joe doesn't want your hard earned tax dollars to go to healthcare for uninsured Americans. He wants it to pay for universal healthcare in Isreal. Don't trust this man even if he is right on this issue.

jfkjrlover: I don't have health insurance; I'm too poor! Where is my option? Why can't I get check-ups every year to make sure I'm healthy? What if, for example, I wake up one morning and have a pink, swollen eye and want to get it checked out and treated? How can I afford that? THIS is why I hope the public option gets passed! There are many uninsured people like myself. We shouldn't only get to see a doctor when an illness has progressed to the point that it's an emergency!!

larry1369: He did it for the right reason. To prevent a total meltdown of the economy. He failed to put restrictions and adequate safeguards on the money. Expecting the bankers who caused the problem to suddenly do the right thing was naive at best and downright stupid at worst. Why can we afford this senseless war but not universal single payer, public option health care? This is the question I want answered.

The Democrats should go to Connecticut and either find another candidate for this seat or support the Republican running against him. At least the Republican will not be able to sit in Dem strategy sessions and pass it to the Republicans. Lieberman bought and paid for by AIPAC, Big Oil and Big Insurance. Any questions?

larry1369: You make an excellent point. I'm not sure why so many people gave you a thumbs down. What you are saying is common sense as it is much less costly to treat ailments before they worsen. What does a typical hospital charge for one day of ICU? Apparently that little nugget is lost on many of the you tubers.
