Global warming responsible for hurricane tragedy Video

Atiq Rahman says that global warming is increasing the intensity of deadly cyclones, such as the devastating Cyclone Sidr 2007, that strike the vulnerable coast of Bengladesh. Rahman describes a little girl who was lost in the storm while her father left her briefly to rescue other family members from an unsafe house. Rahman says had it not been for global warming, the wind would have been less powerful and the child might not have been lost. Rahman is the founder and director of the Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies. In 2008 he was named a Champion of the Earth by the United Nations Environment Programme. This video was shot in Dhaka, Bangladesh in December, 2008 by Daniel Grossman.
