350.org animation test #8: letter to Obama Video
This is an animation test for a concept to involve 350 LA schools in a video message around 350.org's important International Day of Climate Action on October 24th. Everyone participating in the final video will be helping to send a message reading:
Wake up!
Global Warming cannot be stopped
without urgent American leadership.
Speak up!
We must convince our leaders NOW
to include 350 parts per million
in the Kyoto Protocol update
this December in Copenhagen.
Act up!
Without citizen action now,
politicians will remain oblivious
to the extreme urgency of
Global Warming.
Wake up! Speak up! Act up!
350".
The message is designed to raise awareness about 350ppm and Climate Change, and specifically to put pressure politicians and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change who will be negotiation improvements to the Kyoto Protocol in Copenhagen this December. Each school can enroll its kids + parents + faculty to simply take pictures holding up printouts of the words in our statement, which I will combine into a long video collage. The video will be submitted to 350.org before October 24th so they can include it among the thousands of citizen actions that will be documented all over the world. Want to know more about 350? ajmjw4: It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. You're frightening kids about a myth. IT'S GOTTEN COOLER FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. It's snowing...in October...in New Jersey. Coolest October in German history. This is all about making money. Liberals have to be upset. There is no such thing as a content liberal. They have to find some new reason to be miserable. Will they have the guts to tell these kids they were wrong? I doubt it.
nn123654: While 1998 was a higher than average anomaly due to el nino events the observed trend has (at least from 1998 to 2007) been of general warming, inline with the trend of previous decades. Climate change is about the trend not about specific weather events, you can still have blizzards and early snows or cold, even record setting months. In fact some areas of the planet may even get colder due to disruption of ocean currents and other things on the planet, caused by the average warming.
