__________Nick's POV__________
By the next day Kevin and I get to school, Joe is already there waiting by the gate, his eyes darting frantically, scanning the campus as he says,
"Okay the bell's gonna ring in less than five minutes and still no sign of Trina, or Amy. You think they dropped out?" He looks at us, his brown eyes wide with alarm.
"Why would they drop out? They just started," I say, heading for my locker as they walk alongside me, the thick rubber soles of his boots scrapping the pavement.
"Uh, because we're not worthy? Because they really are too good to be true?"
"But they have to come back. Nick lent Amy his copy of Wuthering Heights, which means she and probably Trina have to to be back so Amy can return it," Kevin says before I can stop him.
I shake my head, and spin my combination lock, feeling the weight of Joe's glare when he says,
"When did this happen?" He says putting his hands on his hips and stares at me.
"Because I need to know when my brother is flirting with a girl. And why didn't I get updated? Why didn't anyone tell me about this? Last I heard you hadn't even say one of them yet."
"Oh, he saw Amy alright. I almost had to dial nine-one-one he freaked out so bad." Kevin laughs.
I shake my head, shut my locker, and head down the hall.
"Well, it's true." He shrugs, walking alongside me.
"So let me get this straight; you are gaga over this girl already?" Joe smirks at me, with eyes spraking with intrest.
I take a deep breath and look at them, thinking how if they weren't my brothers, I'd tell them how ridiculous this all is, I mean, since when did it matter if I liked a girl? Besides, it's not like I'm all that datable in my current voice-hearing, aura-seeing, baggy-sweatshirt-wearing condition. But I don't say any of that. Instead I just say,
"No, Mainly because I'm not interested. And I know that's probably hard to believem with her being all gorgeous and sexy and hot and smoldering and combustible or whatever it is that you call her, but the truth is, I don't like Amy Ever, and I don't know how else to say it."
"Um, I don't think you need to say anything else," Joe mumbles, his face frozen as he stares straight ahead. I follow his gaze, all the way to where Amy, and I am guessing her twin is standing. Trina doesn't look any different than Amy expect Trina has longer hair and is like an inch taller. Amy is standing their with her shiny dark hair, smoldering eyes, amazing body, and knowing smile, feeling my heart skip two beats as she holds the door open tells Trina bye, and we both watch her walk off with Joe, then she says, "Hey Nick, after you."
