After school they all went to the firehouse. They had a group project due next week. Stella was talking about how awesome her party was going to be. Macy zoned out after a while. They still had a hour till they got back to the house. She rested her arm against the window and rested her head on it. She fell asleep soon after. Stella looked behind her, since the car had three rows of seats, and smiled. Stella always thought Macy looked so peaceful when she sleeps. But then she noticed Nick taking off his sweater.
“Nick are you crazy?! It’s only 20 degrees! Why are you taking off your jacket anyways?” Stella asked him.
Nick looked back at Macy. Even though she’s sleeping, you could tell she was cold. She left her coat in her locker at school.
“She’s cold Stella. Plus I don’t need it.” Nick said.
He stood up and moved to the back where she was. Nick gently put his coat over her and moved her hair out of her face. She sifted a little. She turned and put her head on his shoulder.
“Thanks Nick.” Macy mumbled.
He Looked at her.
“Your welcome.” He said back to her and put his head on top of hers.

When they got back to the fire house everyone got out of the car and went into the house. Until they noticed something.
“Where’s Macy?” Stella asked.
“Didn’t she come in with you Nick?” Kevin asked.
“No I thought she was with Stella.” Nick said.
They looked each other.
“OH MY GOSH!” They said at the same time and ran back outside.
Macy was just getting out of the car. She looked like she was crying though.
“DON’T EVER LEAVE ME IN A CAR! I DIDN’T KNOW WHERE I WAS AT TILL I SAW THE FIRE HOUSE! I THOUGHT SOMEONE TOOK ME.” She said.
“Were sorry. We forgot you were in the car since you were sleeping and so quite.” Stella said and gave her a hug.
“It’s ok.” She said and smiled at her best friend.
Macy and Nick were doing homework on his bed.
“Hey what did you get for number 8?” Macy asked him.
“Do it yourself.” He said.
“I don’t know how.” She wined.
“That’s what you said for the first seven!” Nick Said.
“Well l’m sor-“Macy got cut off by Nick’s cell phone going off.
“Hello? Oh hey Penny. Um nothing that I know of. Yea of course I’ll come. See you later Bye. Love you too.” Nick said and hung up.
Macy put her head down. She hated when Nick told another girl I love you. He always ended up broken hearted afterwards. Macy picked up her papers and put them in her book bag along with her books. She fixed her skirt and started walking towards the fire poles.
“Hey where are you going?” Nick asked her.
“Well since you have to get ready to go to Penny’s house I’ll just go since you have to get ready and stuff.” She said.
“You don’t have to leave Stella and rest of them is here.” Nick said to her.
“No it’s fine. Plus you’re the only one in my grade level here that can help me.” She said.
“Well I know Stella-“Nick started to say.
“NICK ITS FINE!” Macy yelled.
Nick just looked at her.
“Sorry. I’m just going to go now. See you later.” She said.
“It’s ok. Bye.” Nick said.
He gave her a small hug and she accepted it. He gave her one of his rare smiles. She threw her book bag down that pole before she went down. She herd Nick snicker.
“What? Its heavy and I didn’t fell like going 100 miles per hour down a pole.” She said.
“You know Macy, you’re the only one I know who thinks there going to go that fast down a pole.” He said.
She smiled and left.
