Mrcharliebobo: Who are the asspuppets in DC going to blame this on when it tanks??? cuz its all on them dumdems who voted for it! and how are they going to twist it when it fails!!!!!
DamNationDiplomat: Anarcho capitalism is a TERRIBLE model. To anyone who thinks the market will create a rainbow unicorn world of happy if we leave it alone, I invite you to read a Dickens novel sometime. The industrial revolution in Britain was all about free markets, and you know what they got? Child slavery. Forcing poor people to commit crimes in order to stay afloat isn't exactly 'government out of your life' if you ask me.
JixMa: Hear hear, Rep. Donna Edwards! Nice speech!
MrMP81: DamNationDiplomat: Child workers and child slavery are 2 different things. Everyone goes and points to kids working in factories as 1 flaw of a Free Market but who put the kids there in the first place? Where was the force of people to commit crimes? There is no perfect system, no one said there was but the most prosperous has been the Free Market. Any other system that uses govt. to regulate and/or control is how? Through "Force"
RodgersRevolution: You are talking about state government. Where were all these ideas before this bill? Oh right. No one cared.
NwZ2: what forced them into the factories? (assuming that's what you said/meant) hunger, for one. The free market cannot provide us with what we NEED, just what we desire and can afford.
MrMP81: NwZ2: 1. There were farmers back then, alot more than there are today. Food wasn't a problem. 2. What can't the Free Market provide you with that you "Need?"
NwZ2: because you have to rely on others providing it (ie selling it). You can pick which type of car you want, but you can't go out there and buy a mass-produced & marketed (Insert some bullshit alternative to fossil fuel guzzling motor vehicle). What's out there is what you can choose from. What *isn't* out there, which says a lot more, you can't choose from, now can you? Tell me: does the free market sell socialism???
NwZ2: wait wait wait, WHAAAA? Food *wasn't* a problem, back when there wasn't a fraction of the technologies available for agriculture (one small fraction of humanity's infancy as a species. See: Scavenging/foraging or hunter/gatherer). Dude, that statement makes no sense historically.
MrMP81: Right, so then if there is a demand for something, it will be provided. Where is the problem? Now if you mean that, if you need a medicine that isn't in demand, that's not how medicine works. Medicine gets out no matter if there is or isn't a demand for it, someone needs something somewhere eventually so it will be there. You asking "Does the Free Market sell socialism?" I don't get your question.
Corporations8MyBaby: My grandparents don't agree with you. They were farmers. Food was a huge problem in terms of availability. Now we have tons of it but it's not healthy anymore - healthy food is even less available; more costly. there were many more family farmers then but there is a lot more FARMING today. ADM & other Agribusiness is monopolizing it. * The Free-Market* only sells what is profitable, not what is best for the long term health of the nation, our air, our water, our bodies. The stats are all there.
Corporations8MyBaby: Great Speech. So true, so real. Government can solve some problems that the private sector can't (because it's not the MOST profitable for them) & provide that truly American mixed economy. Does anyone else notice it must be cold in there? lol
MrMP81: Those corporations are able to do just that because of deals like NAFTA ( Which was put in by Clinton ) and the Dept. of Agriculture, not because of a Free market lol Profit is what has driven and what will drive innovation, not votes. Who can spend your dollar better? You or a 3rd party? These are basic fundamentals. Let me ask u this: we all need food right? Why not put in a Universal Food Plan for everyone. Now you tell me would you eat that food...
Corporations8MyBaby: Ah another member of that religion. Ayn Rand had a fatal flaw in her logic sir, but 1 day u'll see. NAFTA was corporate, Clinton didn't see where it was headed. Gingrich got paid to lie about it. I'm not defending DC as infallible. America is about balance. Profit drives innovation & also pollution. Ever seen a superfund site? Markets r like baseball games; no good w/out Umpires. We r in this together; a portion of what we make we share;our duty to 1another. The rest we spend freely-Forget Rand.
MrMP81: lol on the contrary, she was a militant type of person who did believe in interventionism for certain things. If you want to compare me to anyone, I'm more along the lines of Milton Friedman, Mises and those alike. As for Clinton not knowing, oh believe me he knew. You could even go back to the debates when Perot and Gore debated over it and Perot called him out. America isn't about balance the way you're making it. If it was, it would be a communist country, Why?
MrMP81: Because unlike other countries, in this Republic ( or what's left of it ) you have the right to choose to work and be prosperous or you can be lazy and be left out on the street. If it were balanced, those that strive have to help those who don't want to help themselves by force ( from the govt. )
Corporations8MyBaby: I think of Friedmanites & Von Mises folks as Randian. Sorry. Reagan's love of Friedman proved to be what W's dad said, "voodoo"& there is a new Keynesian future coming &it won't mean the government owns all means of production, but I think you know that. I think you use the c-word as a buzzword, which makes me doubt the veracity of your venal verbiage of victimhood. *We have a republic it is under threat by Oligarchy. As Russia was after the fall. The few at the top shall feel our vengeance.
NwZ2: no, it WON"T be provided. For example: Hey! I want universal healthcare outta my tax paying dollars. Yet we haven't seen one ONCE of this come from the free market; it's not profitable. It's a total non-sequitur to think that just cause someone wants it and has the money for it, it'll MAGICALLY be created for them (by what, the free-market fairy? LOL people who undertake such enterprises do so on a CALCULATED expectation of both profit and a HIGH demand).
callouschristian: "right to choose to work and be prosperous or you can be lazy and be left out on the street." So tell me ,mrmp81, the %10 unemployed WANT to be unemployed? Or should they be magicians and snap their fingers to bring back the MILLIONS of jobs shipped over seas under the Bush Administration? It is your warped storybook perspective and lack of vision to see beyond that destructive lie that has sent the repubicans down the toilet to the glee of America.
MrMP81: Corporations8mybaby: <--- LOL Nice name Reagen was no Milton Friedman, sorry. He started his presidency good by cutting Taxes and spending which got the economy moving out of the stagflation from Carter but in his later years, he raised spending and tried to keep taxes low which caused the 87 recession. You say "The few at the top shall feel our vengeance" yea, not by letting them put in more programs on behalf of helping people they wont & media saying people who oppose Obama are racist =I
MrMP81: NwZ2: You won't have a universal method because you have to look at how something becomes universal. Unless you took it to the state level and told your legislator and others that you want it in the state, then it could be done but to tax is to force by definition so you wouldn't have it on a federal level. Remember, the states are suppose to be sovereign. The market provides from Demand. Why would it create something 1 person wants but not millions? I don't get what the prob is here?
MrMP81: CallousChristian: It's actually at 20% ( The Media doesn't tell the full figure ) You're mixing in the effect of govt. interfering in the market that caused unemployment, not the other way around. Jobs were shipped overseas because the U.S. doesn't have a sound economy. This isn't a Republican Or Democrat issue and if you keep thinking that, you're going to get played for a fool. Bush was no angel but Obama isn't a god either. Insults won't get you anywhere.
MrMP81: Did Bush ruin it? Yes, but this was being built up over many years, before Bush and Obama today figures to keep spending to get us out of the problem. That is like me telling the alcoholic to keep drinking, he'll sober up soon. If you want to fix the economy, it's not that complicated. Cut spending & cut taxes, then you'll see how quick the economy bounces back. But no, Obama is in the pockets of the banks and if you don't see that by now, you're delusional.
callouschristian: "Jobs were shipped overseas... isn't a Republican Or Democrat issue and if you keep thinking that, you're going to get played for a fool." Let me be clear. Jobs overseas is a republican ORIGINATED issue like so many of our problems. You're right it is now a two party problem since the progressives are constantly cleaning up this and every other mess the republicans leave behind in their lust for power and blind greed. So did you dress up as V for Halloween or something?
MrMP81: Actually, Jobs overseas originated by democrat programs put into place that caused taxes to raise on businesses if you really want to start picking sides. Dems cleaning up? How? Most of Obama's administration was responsible for it, why don't you look them up? They are all bankers. By the way, you should look into a movie called The Obama Deception. The whole film is on youTube. That goes into great detail of who is who and will clear up alot. And no I wasn't V lol
