This inspiring video shows how environmentally-sensitive women are designing and building their own homes, using straw bale walls coated with mud plasters. Their homes are mortgage-free, designed with nature in mind, and the owners conserve energy by living off the grid.

The video features interviews with numerous women who have built homes from organic materials and who describe the empowering nature of the process, which connects family members, friends and neighbors. The use of straw, a waste product which is normally burned, reconnects women with the earth and expresses womens traditional roles as caregivers.
