exenrontexas: Typically banks back Republicans. One of the largest BUSH supporters (BESIDES ENRON) was JP Morgan Chase bank which was ALSO directly connected to ENRON. The banks will back whoever they feel that they can control and who will benefit them. TRULY that was BUSH in 2000/2004 since banks ALWAYS make lots of money on war. You are correct that Obama has continued many of the projects and policies of BUSH and also reached out in major ways to Republicans. Too soon to tell if he is the SAME as BUSH.

exenrontexas: Sure sounds like FDR to me. Jesse Jones, FDRs recovery banker tired very hard to balance the interests of the working man with preserving the capital of business. FDR gave loans to business to keep them going but REQUIRED that they give back to the communities that they served as well as have management located in those communities. PBS did an excellent documentary on Jones, "Brother can you spare a billion". Helping the rich helps factories in China. Helping the worker benefits America.

Then they claim we must clean up the credit problem in the country, be more conservative with loans and mortgages etc. And finally they return the bail out money because conditions are too strict. MrGOPERA: The states have the right to reject this bailout money. Call you governor or senator and tell them you want it rejected. Virginia and South Carolina all told them to keep their money because they know that simply by paying us now we have to pay them back later. It will create a whole new recession in the future. There are other states that have denied it too I am sure. I won't be surprised if Obama doesn't get reelected. Republicans just need the right candidate to capture voters attention.
