Even thought the was rain was falling today, Lions Spirit is calling and is lighting up the square in a big way. Off The Hanger Consignment Shop just doesnt have a small We Believe poster in their window like the rest of the merchants do, they did it up good at the top of their building.
In the business of the Cannon County Planning Commission tonight, it was discussed that Mike Gannon, County Executive, and the commissioners agreed to appoint Joe Frank Sanders to the seat vacated by Jackie Francis.
Final plat for the property of J. C. Hankins at the end of Roach Hollow Road was approved. The preliminary plat was approved last month. Ray Cripps, Fair Oaks, Phase Three was approved. That is on Highway 70, McMinnville Highway just past East Side School.
This is one of the two and three lot subdivisions going through the steps to be approved.
They discussed an amendment regarding the revised regulation for tar and chip roads, it is to be presented to the commission to revise and update the subdivision regulations.
They then talked about training that is to take place next month.
Tonight was night two of the Border Wars at the Woodbury Grammar School. It was still raining but the color of the trees could still be seen. We caught the West Side Eagles capturing a win and Roger Haley winning his 500th basketball game Thats what was announced, but when we checked further, Haley, coach of the West Side Eagles boys team, stated that he won over one hundred games and just a few losses. He attributed the all the wins to the great kids that play for him. By the way, final score was `19 to 30.
Next game we caught was Woodland Warriors, who won their game over Dibrell with a score of 44 to 17.
The Border Wars continue on Thursday, with the Semi Final.
In boys action, the Woodbury Grammar School will go against Auburn at 5:15 p.m., followed by West Side vs Kittrell at 7:45 p.m.
Then in girls action, Kittrell with go up against Middle Tennessee Christian School at 4 p.m., then at 6:30 p.m., Warren County Middle School will play against Woodland, who won tonight.
