Home Movies (Beach of the Dead 2009) Video
A selection of photos from our journey... please note, we were in a group of about 20 Zombies, the actual procession featured around 2-3 thousand something... So this represents only a tiny fraction of the undead!
I wish I could have got some proper crowd shots, and pictures from in front of the shopping centre & above the promenade! Not to mention brought my proper camera, but then I would have found it hard to work the thing being an undead and all that... But it must have looked incredible from an onlooker's point of view.
Can't wait to see all the other photos posted up on the internet... saw lots of professional/media cameras about... had lots of pictures taken!
kudos to all those who actually stayed in character the WHOLE time, and we know you did (although my kids thought it was too 'embarassing' !, so many great Zombies out this year!
- lots of limbs falling off, lots of uniforms - Including a man in a U.N.I.T. uniform!, lots of gore! Lots of loose limbs!
Never in my undead life, have i met such nice human flesh-eating, blood-thirsty corpses.
Best thing about this event, is - being escorted en masse - across main roads in Zombie packs! So much fun! Thanks everyone. x
Also, to the Police (*Slurp), who were lovely and even engaged in a great conversation about crossing the road safely without limbs and told me to have a good night - a nice occurance.
very friendly escorts et al, thanks! It was so much fun :)
*As an aside though - I did get stopped a LOT! this year, people wanting photos with us, people asking what make-up I used etc, lots of families hiding/ encouraging the curiosity of their kids fright, and a group of ladies outside of their make-up shop - so maybe next year I should hire my skills out as a 'recently dead zombie' make-up artist!
Weliterally got stopped, and oogles a by every other person in Brighton tonight, so, I am really glad we made the effort and came along when we could have just stayed at home with a scary film and a cup of cocoa.
Some of the bst comments we heard this year -
"There must be something going on!"
"this town is full of effin' Zombies man!"
"why are there so many Zombies?!"
"Fuck that's scary"
"LOOK AWAY! LOOK AWAY!"
"Argh!"
"Look Racheal... look at that ladies face, hold that ladie's hand!" (a woman to her child)
*Thumbs up! "I like it, No i do...!"
"Look kids! Look at them, that's very well done isn't it!Bloody hell!"
"Look at the state of that, jesus!"
"Christ!"
Also, I am quite suprised, yet again by the so many people that are unawares of the yearly City event... although this another thing that makes it great to partake! (aswell as going into shops in character with the staff and shoppers completely unaware)
