Joe:

"...they're....gone." Demi looked down.

My eyes widened, I felt so sorry for her. Living here all alone, with nothing but herself.

"...Demi..I'm sorry.." I looked down and sighed. " I didn't know.."

" It's okay.. I mean, It's already 1 year since they died.." She slightly smiled. It was sweet, but fake.

I looked at her. Why is she denying that she's hurt? Why is she saying that it doesn't bother her anymore when the truth is it really does? I don't get her. I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and so I talked.

" Were you crying last night because of your parents? " I asked her.

She looked at me with a " oh no." look.

"...you...saw me crying didn't you.." She stared at me.

"....yeah. I can't take my eyes off of you...."

Demi 's eyes widened. Oh no, what have I said?!

" I-I m-mean...ummm.." I stammered and blushed. I was so embarrassed!

" You...can't take your eyes off of me?" She smiled.

"...no! What I meant to say was.... um y-your... cr-crying w-was d-distracting me from....THINKING! yeah, that's right, I was thinking." My eyes widened as I thought of a reason.

Demi giggled. " Alright, Joe. What ever you say."

" Hey! I'm Telling The T-truth! " I shouted at her.

" uhuh." She rolled her eyes.

" Hmpf." I smirked.

" We should finish our lunch now" She sighed.

" Yeah."

A few minutes we were done eating. She cleaned up the mess we made and we walked back to the house.

-While walking-

" Demi, can I ask you another question?" I looked at her.

" Of course you can." She smiled whilst looking at the autumn leaves on the ground.

".... promise you'll tell me the real answer." I needed her honest answer, I am really interested on her life.

" sure." She said.

" ..how did your parents die?" I asked her softly, not making an expression in my face so that she went get emotional.

She stopped walking for a moment but then continued, this time, she was walking slowly.

She took a deep breath before answering.

" Listen close. Coz' I will only say this ONCE, just ONCE, I won't repeat it. " She looked at me straight in the eye.

" okay.." I gulped.

" It was Winter. My mom and dad had sent up dinner for us three. It was my birthday you see, so we were gonna celebrate. I was about to blow my cake when Five men came knocking our door over and barging in. My mom screamed and my dad told me to hide on the basement. *Quickly!* I remember him saying that. So, I ran to the basement, scared of what might happen. I hid under on of the covered tables and cried. I heard gun shots and my mother screaming. They were looking for me too, but they didn't find me. I slept under the table for safety and when I woke up the next morning....I saw my parents, covered in blood. Those Rock hearted bastards killed them."
Demi looked down.
