Vincenzo Ugolini - Beata es Virgo Maria Video

Vincenzo Ugolini (Perugia, c. 1570 - Rome, May 6, 1638) Italian composer, he was a pupil of G. B. Nanino from 1592 to 1594 at the choir school of S. Luigi dei Francesi, Rome; was a bass there from 1600; from 1603 to 1609 he was choirmaster at the Church of S. Maria Maggiore; from 1610 to 1614, was at the Cathedral of Benevento; then returned to Rome; was director of music to Cardinal Arrigoni; in 1616 became choirmaster of S. Luigi dei Francesi; in 1620 he succeeded Suriano as maestro of the Cappella Giulia of St. Peter's (until 1626); in 1631 he resumed his former post at S. Luigi dei Francesi, retaining it till his death. He was the teacher of Benevoli. A notable representative of Palestrina's school.
