Video response to Apple Soldier's vid "Mac vs. PC XP Mode......What AN INSULT. Part 2 of 2" Video

Kind of tired of hearing stuff spewed out about this or that being better. Lets do some real world testing of performance, stability..etc. Stuff that can be duplicated on different platforms to minimize discrpancies.

svtcontour: Thanks. Not so much a video than some boring text to read but seriously, instead of everyone boasting about whats better, we should just do it. Kind of like when people end up going to the track or drag strip with their cars :) I'm trying to think of some legit tests that can be run on all platforms that would have real world merit to them.

svtcontour: Thanks man. Ya I dont know if its fear or what. I find people who have nothing better to do but bash are just afraid.

svtcontour: Ya apple is the worst because it leaves users high and dry. Example is the quad core G5 that I use at work along side the PC. Even though its got dual drives, 6GB RAM and four cores, it cant run snow leopard. Sh*t I installed windows 7 on a pentium 3 and it ran fine!! At least on the windows side, people dont get abandoned. Thats more important IMO.

ShepperdOneill: For someone who is supposed to be a computer person, he really doesnt know much about them..... unless he's just putting on a show, on purpose. I watched his vids, and just rolled my eyes. There were some that were funny, but now its just annoying and old. I look forward to seeing what becomes of this challenge. grayfox106: exactly, and the fact people paid alot of money back then for a 4core system, then apple just ups and leaves them with the buy a new one attitude, thats the only reason why they have good stocks at the moment is cause their users have to keep buying whole new products instead of upgrading

a5mcclelland: a compatability test..... run an app on it's platform from 1995, PCs should work with it, but Macs will complain about "classic mode".

mukatuna: It seems AppleSoldier just has an inbred hatred for Windows 7. And indeed he's just repeating what he likes to read from blogs and websites. IMO normally his Mac Vs PC stuff is OK and can be quite entertaining, certainly never take them seriously. But his bigoted Windows 7 hate videos are just abysmal and have no subjectivity and proof at all..

svtcontour: Ya I want to see if he will end up coming up with a challenge. You know, real world stuff, video/audio encoding, rendering, stability testing...even work flow. I have a feeling that he will not make a vid or respond because he'd know that there is nothing he can say to back himself up. Each OS out there is capable and has its merits. He just needs to stop being blinded by brand loyalty.

svtcontour: Damn I didnt even think of that. Ya that would be a good test. Backwards compatability. He wouldnt be able to go very far back without breaking out a virtual machine of some kind :)

svtcontour: I think mac vs PC vids where bashing is based on knowledge and experience are actually fun to watch because the person's character comes through when they argue their points. In this case, when bashing is done with NO experience, it just comes across as ignorant and blind fanboism and nothing fun or interesting about it. LOL. I think that since Win2K, microsoft has done a good job with their OS's. Even NT4 was fine even though it lacked PNP. It was stable, thats for sure :)

svtcontour: Well I'm going to be making a vid to at least show that WIndows7 has very little issues runnning old software AND doing so on old hardware. Will be fun.

codebean: Yeah i'm thinking about making a vid response I don't really make any but the crap he said about virtual pc I know from using vb is exactly the same. Also it gives me the chance to show the windows 7/vista can run a very small memory footprint. As well as point out some of security or lack thereof OSX has had in it. Don't know if I'll be able to keep it civil tho.
