Joe's POV after the Confrintation
I watched her as she ran out of the school and I looked at everyone around us...well, me now.
"WHAT?!" I screamed and everyone scampered away, doing whatever it was they were doing. Garbo came over to me with Lizzy and Lizzy looked pissed.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!" She screamed at me. I rolled my eyes and walked away from the pair of them, for I was getting on my last nerve. Garbo pulled me back and I turned around.
"You need to chill out man! Do you even know what happened that night?"
"Yeah. Nicole and Patrick kissed. That's what happened." They both shook their heads and Lizzy started to cry. Garbo held her close, calming her down, for I knew she hated that Nicole was miserable. But I didn't care. Nicole was nothing to me...but my heart was aching. Why? I'm not sure, but it has to do with Nicole. "Well, what do you know? You don't know what happened." I asked, sounding kinda harsh. And I immediately regretted it. The look Lizzy gave me was something that was threatening, and it scared me.
"Well..." She started as she tried to calm down. "We did see what happened...and Patrick came onto her...and forced a kiss on her when you walked into the room." And she started to sob. Garbo held her and nodded at me.
"Its the honest truth, man. And we overheard someone talking about how it was all a set up so Ashley can get you back." My jaw dropped. No...no...I tried to comprehend it, but it was hard to. I looked at Garbo and I saw the truth in his eyes. He wouldn't lie to me about that. Neither would Lizzy. I looked down, tears starting to roll down my cheek. I shook my head, ashamed and embarrassed. I cant believe I broke up with her for something that wasn't even her fault. Well, their plan worked. We did break up. And I started to feel miserable. I wiped my tears away and Garbo was there, holding Lizzy.
Then, I saw Patrick walking down the hall with Matt and I stormed up to him. Patrick looked me and he got scared. He backed up.
"HEY MAN!! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!" He screamed. I must have shown fury, for he looked scared out of his wits.
"YOU BASTARD. YOU KISSED NICOLE BECAUSE ASHLEY AND THE TWINS TOLD YOU TO!!! DIDN'T YOU?!?!" He nodded. I pushed him against the wall. "Why?" I asked threateningly. I was just about ready to rip him apart right there. He didn't say anything and I was getting impatient. "WHY?!?!?!"
"BECAUSE I WANTED TO, THAT'S WHY!!! I DON'T KNOW!! Maybe I'm sick and tired of you being the god of this place. You got the girl, you have every other girl at your feet...youre famous. AND I WANTED TO BRING YOU DOWN. IT WAS BETTER WHEN YOU WERENT AROUND AND WHEN EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL."
"YOU NEVER NOTICED NICOLE!!! YOU NEVER DID BEFORE I CAME ALONG."
"So, it was all out of pity, wasnt it?" And he crossed the line. I punched him in the face and then Garbo pulled me away from him before I go beating his brains out.
"YOU ARE SO DONE. YOURE LIFE WILL BE OVER!!" I screamed at him.
"JOE!! STOP RIGHT NOW! You need to relax right now." Garbo said as he pulled me away. I calmed down, shook off Garbo and walked straight to Lizzy.
"Go find her. I want to talk to her."
"NU-HUH. You are NOT talking to her. Ill find her, but you are just going to have to wait to talk to her." She said firmly.
"Fine, but just make sure...shes ok." She gave me one last glare, gave Garbo a kiss goodbye and ran off. Garbo looked at me and shook his head.
"Dude...you need to relax. I can tell you everything...well, Ive been trying, but youve been acting too much of an ass to listen. You should have listened to her." And he shook his head and walked off.
"Garbo, wait!" I ran up to him and he looked at me.
"What?"
"Im...sorry. Im just stubborn and..." I couldnt think of words that would suffice what I was feeling. I felt a tear of pain, worry and guilt roll down my cheek as I swiftly wiped it away. Garbo came back over and put a hand on my shoulder. I looked down at the ground, for I couldnt bare to show him what I was really feeling.
"Do you want Nicole back?" I looked up at him and nodded slightly.
"More than you can ever imagine." I said weakly. He gave me a small smile and said,
"Well, then lets fix this whole thing, shall we? I hate to see you both like this. You guys are meant to be. I know it." I smiled my first genuine smile in a lone time and we walked out of the building, Garbo filling me in on what really happened that night. After I learned the real and horrifying truth, I wanted to run over to her house and just talk things out. But I knew things werent going to be that easy. No way.
