Linux Beauty (Ubuntu) Video

A video of my linux desktop (ubuntu),100% free for everyone on the earth.
Ok I'v been asked a million times how to do this so here it is sticky:
1. install linux
2. install compiz
3. enable 3d cube, wobbly windows..ect
4. set cube opacity slider BOTH to 25.
5. use a skydome and check off "animate"
(panorama's from google images work well)
6. Install atlantis "fish" plugin

(extract to your home dir, go into that directory inside a terminal, type "make" then "sudo make install"

whew.. that should be it.. everything else is just tweaking for days however you like it.

abstractpotato: The great thing about Linux is that it's customizable. This isn't how every Linux distribution (or theme) is. You can change it to look pretty much however you want.

sausagenmuff: Yes , thank you. I get a million people on here asking me "where to download" and they completly miss the point. that you should be creative, hang a picture on your wall insted of having flat eggshell paint everywhere.

showtaker: I have a problem, i installed ubuntu, compiz also, but when i type in to terminal that "make" commands i still get an error that "compiz" is not installed, do you know what the problem might be? thank you.

sausagenmuff: no sorry I dont, A lot of people seem to have that problem though.. check the ubntu forums, i'm sure they have the answer

johnny1250000: tut on how you might go about setting this kind of thing up would be cool too, but very cool desktop - can you really run windows from a linux desktop too?, i didn't know you could do this...

sausagenmuff: not really no. there is a different plug in that looks similar to spaces if you wish it though.

HiAdrian: Great video! What are you experiences with hardware intense applications running in the virtual machine? Sometime around Ubuntu 6.xx a kernel update introduced severe problems with my mainboard. At the time, I didn't have the expertise or time to fix that, so i went with Windows XP. By now this might be ironed out, so the thought of going back and only booting a VM for certain heavy apps (e.g. Adobe CS) is quite tempting. I miss the multiple desktops to separate work spaces from one another.

sausagenmuff: I pushed my zoom key. I dont remember what i had it mapped to.. i belive the default is CTRL or ALT or win95key plus mouse wheel up.
