Jayyycubbb: Oh okay, I get it. So since I'm gay now. It's YOUR law, correct? So if I cross the boundaries and decide that I want to be straight again it becomes my law now? Well that isn't a bit "one sided" at all now, isn't it? I didn't say the way a straight person grows up. I directed it at the way a "religious" person grows up. I've been there. I was grown up Christian, thanks. That being said, I'm allowed to say how "we" grew up.

Jayyycubbb: Don't think you know me. I've lived YOUR life and I've lived mine. I've been both straight and gay, and everything from agnostic to christian. I'd love if you were able to comprehend that I'm not mad at straight people, I'm mad at ignorant people. Theres a slight difference in there. For the record, you not being religious give you what idea that marriage is only between a man and a woman?

standingontheledge: no im saying its always been a straight thing. im not saying you dont deserve the same rights but whats so wrong with calling it somehting different? both sides would win. im not trying to offend you, im just trying to get you to see my point of it. its our custom to call it marriage. so who are you to change our customs just to make you happy? cant you make your own?

Jayyycubbb: The whole point isn't weather I want the rights or not. It's getting in to a marriage stance. I'm trying to get you to see MY point a view. I'm not trying to change "your" customs, because really it isn't just "yours". Any child growing up in the last century has grown up to know the term marriage. I grew up wanting to be married, so when did it stop becoming my custom? Why should I make my own when I also grew up with it?

standingontheledge: mm i see your point. but did you grow up going "i want to be gay"? what i mean is like yeah, you lose marriage as a term but you also lose the term straight, dosen't that bother you? a lot of things are different when you grow up and what you imagined as a kid... like in your video you ranted about equality, so why dont you want the closest thing to equality thats possible? i can honestly see people agreeing to mine before yours, cant you?

Jayyycubbb: Okay, get this through your head. The person in the video we are comment ISN'T me. All your arguments are attacking his beliefs not mine. Did you grow up going "I want to be straight."? or was it more of a "I want to get married one day and have kids."? Honestly, The only people i can see agreeing to yours is the people who have the same beliefs as you.

standingontheledge: my bad your right. im not sure why i thought it was the person in the vid. sorry about that. but actually i never said "i want to grow up and get married one day" ever.. im not sure why. and for the record. people "like me" are the people who decide these things. and most of them are less understanding than i am.

Jayyycubbb: Okay, I respect that you didn't grow up that way. That being said, I grew up wanting to get married , not for the rights, who knew what those were at a young age, but for the fact that I was able to love somebody, and that it was recognized. So now that I'm older, I have to let go of my dream? Also, the people like you are the one who decide for us not to get it. The intelligent people(congress) have passed the law a significant amount of times. So, you decide a smaller part of it.

standingontheledge: you just said it. to be recognized. why cant it be recognized as a union not marriage? just because you want it to be? and yes. you lose a lot of dreams growing up. its a fact of life. and yes we(the voters) decide a smaller amount. but its still a good amount. and congress goes on the majority.

Jayyycubbb: Yes I did say it, If you are able to read though. I wasn't in it to be recognized though. SO why should it be "recognized" as anything different? I'm not in this for benefits, so its not a civil union. Also, I'm sorry for your loss of dreams. But growing up isn't losing dreams, its attaining them. Perhaps you should try harder?. Yeah, as for as i'm concerned congress keeps passing it. Pretty sure they know whats better for "us" then you. Just throwing that out there.

kenballer00: The benefits your talking about are based on federal law. even with gay marriage, you would not get those benefits because of DOMA. so its a red herring and has been ever sense the No On 8 Campaign brought it up. Besides, We can always make sure that civil unions have all the same rights (including federal) down the future without having to redefining marriage for everyone.

kenballer00: the fact is The state is not there to issue love licenses gays are not animals or robots. they have the freewill to marry someone of the opposite sex and even if they didn't have freewill it still would not justify labeling their relationship something that its clearly not because it is biologically impossible for same sex couples to procreate and rear-children NATURALLY. its not about being straight or gay to be able to enter the institution. its about whether you can help society as a whole

itsconcon1: Gay marriage is not a threat to society. And homosexuality is not a choice. If marriage is all about child-rearing, then we might as well make everyone who gets married have a child...

KoRNeRd: People arent equal no matter what your constitution says Second the foundation of marriage is the future, meaning two people helping each other and having children and thus ensuring the future of your nation. All those rights you are so mad about are made for that reason. GAY PEOPLE ARE FREAKS WHO SHOULD DIE IN ONE GENERATION TIME. And that's not just me... that's how nature works. whysoserious49: No one has PROVED taht homosexuality is not a choice. The sad thing is that anyone who disagrees with this stuff is called a 'homophobic', or something similar. BTW, theres no point in replying hate comments. I will never abandon my ideals, and im proud to be one of the last few who won't.

whysoserious49: BTW, people are created equal, but they are not born equal. It's just a fact. People are bornj into poverty, born with higher intelligence, stronger than normal bodies, but they ALWAYS have a choice of what to make of it. Homosexuals DO have a choice.
