screwyou269: What's Really weird about it is that by 1981, Everyone who knew of VH (The World) KNEW that DLR was the singer and didn't play guitar with Eddie Live !!!! The Audio sound sped up a bit too, Wass-upp-widdatt ??? But all in all, CLASSIC VH STILL RULES !!!

tenaciousd1970: C'est incroyable! I'm guessing that maybe they had DLR with a guitar since they were doing the album version and there was a second guitar part providing some rhythm accents. (Maybe French viewers are sticklers for accuracy.) A fun video. Merci beaucoup, VHFrance. (I've now exhausted my high school French.)

In fact, this is not the only show where Dave "played" guitar on Unchained. They did that too in Spain. They were just having fun doing these lip-synch songs, there's a better-known video (a Belgian TV show) where Dave pretends to play the intro of Hear About It Later along with Eddie on the Frankie, sorta 4-hands guitar, it's hilarious !

Hunkola: All you asswipe haters need to take a chill pill and stop the hate...........Dave and the boys were just having fun with this performance.........it's obvious they chugged some Jack Daniels and smoked some herb beforehand..........they were just some Pasadena party boys pokiing fun at those annoying Frenchies! Besides, lip-synched TV performances were very common back in the early 80's........ever heard of the show "Solid Gold" ?? Every act on that show did lip-synch and the show was #1....

Ellipser: Actually, I think that was in Montreal ,Canada. The night before during the entire Toronto set Ed's rig kept breaking down. His system just wouldn't stay on. They made it through a couple songs alright, but around the 3rd time his amps went, Dave just tossed his mic onto the floor of the stage and walked off the set. So I think the reason might be that Dave is playing the guitar here in this vid is cause maybe he's taking a shot at Ed. Singers are not only crazy, they've got wicked tempers too.

pjmurray71: Seriously. The people that are critiquing this in a negative way MISSED the whole point. VH was all about having fun and being ridiculous. Wanna see them kicking ass for real?? Watch the live Unchained video from Oakland in '81. No band on the planet can touch that performance. This is just them at their goofy best...Kinda like the Jump video. RELAX!
