www.The Gerler Agency and Talent Agent Douglas Bennett present: LAURENCE OLIVIER and CAROL LYNLEY staring in "BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING" directed by the legendary film maker OTTO PREMINGER. Carol Lynley one of Hollywoods great actresses and personalities will always be remembered as the quintessential California Dreamn' 60's Dream Girl" (even though she's really a born and raised New Yorker).
Carol was type cast as a blonde ingenue and nymphet in her early career, but proved that she was much more than that!
Carol Lynley began as a child model in her native New York; one of her aquaintances at the time was future movie star and Bobby ("Dream Lover") Darin's wife, Sandra Dee. As a teen model Carol was featured on the cover of "Life Magazine". Walt Disney, saw her cover photo and decided to cast her in her film debut, Disney's "The Light In The Forest".
Carol's cute childlike features trapped her in some instances, but she was still capable of moving performances. In "Blue Denim", she played a pregnant teenager adjusting to life's changes; taking over the role of Allison MacKenzie in "Return To Peyton Place", as the secretary who has her eyes on Gene Tierney's husband in "The Pleasure Seekers", and as the frantic mother of a missing child in Otto Preminger's "Bunny Lake Is Missing", opposite Laurence Olivier, Noel Coward, and Keir Dullea.
Carol has appeared in numerous feature films, and made dozens of television appearances, as a guest star, seires regular, and popular game show and talk show personality.
Carol has made occasional forays back into films over the years, and participates in documentaries and biographies about the many Tinsletown Stars, and personalities that she has: known, giving meaningful and thoughtful insights. Married and divorced once, she has a daughter. Carol had long term relationships with Fred Astaire, and David Frost. The character named "Caroline Cushing" in the 2008 Ron Howard film "Frost/Nixon" is based on her. As Frank Sinatra sang "The Best Is Yet To Come".
