This is an excellent documentary about World War 2, from Adolf Hitlers point of view: Why Hitler did what he did, how he rationalized his actions, what he secretly wanted and what not, what he thought of the major issues of the world. The documentary shows to viewers what Hitler knew, based on the documents he received, and how and why he therefore acted the way he did. It really does keep one on the edge of his chair while reading.

The book provides a view of the war from behind Hitler's desk. Much that was inexplicable becomes clear when seen from the vantage point of the man at whose finger tips were all the Intelligence reports, the wiretaps, and the codebreaking, and who commanded what was at the time the mightiest army on earth. But then things began to go wrong. . .

The only major controversial issues in the book (and in historian David Irving), are the authors views on the official version of the Holocaust story. Historian David Irving disagrees with the official story, arguing that far less than 5-6 million Jews died, and that there were no execution gas chambers to kill millions of Jews, and that Hitler did not order killings of Jews and that there is no evidence that Hitler even knew of any killings (after Irving was destroyed financially and his career ruined forever, he changed some of his views publicly, claiming to believe that some gassings might have happened in the camps Belzec, Sobibor and Treblinka, but not in Auschwitz or Majdanek). mickiandalusia: 3:44 " The small British army has escaped at Dünkirk...)", yes it escaped, although Germany had A L L ! the possibilities to destroy the British invaders totally, because Hitler wanted it so... He wanted peace with England. That was unfortunately probably one of his biggest errors .

JackBuio: Well that's right, but actually apart from the SS the Nazis weren't urgently atheistic. And when it comes to propaganda, anything goes... You can't convince the mass of atheism, not even the communists did it. Finally I think that religion hasn't become the big question till then. Maybe that would have led to a big fight between Himmler and Hitler, who knows...
