1965 Iran Ancient Persia Video
This is one of the most fascinating and hospitable places I've ever visited. I was treated as an honored guest everywhere I went. Most pictures were taken south of the capital of Tehran. Isfahan is located on the banks of the Zayandeh River and is full of beautiful mosques and minarets. Further south is the rose city of Shiraz, known for its poets, wine and flowers. Nearby is Persepolis, center of the Achaemenid Dynasty dating from the 9th to 6th century BC. Here you find ruins built by the ancient kings Xerxes and Darius, and destroyed by Alexander the Great. The music is from the Iranian trio Niyaz.
