Wash U Shuts Down Freedom Memorial on 20 Year Anniversary of End of Communism- Too Offensive Video

Washington University shut down a freedom display today on the 20 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. A conservative student group built a gulag complete with prisoners, guards and barb wire. The staff said it was offensive and that things weren't really that bad in the Soviet Union.

innominehumanitas: I wish these well-intentioned, liberal professors would listen to some contemporary Marxists, who have grown disgusted with and disowned Stalinism and Maoism. The Stalinist Soviet Union and the Maoist PRC were as far from socialist ideals as things can get in the modern Second or First World. jmbliberty: A true conservative, as originally conceived, is little different from a libertarian. The problem is that the words are morphed by the "elitists" via statist owned/approved/controlled "education" to mean something completely other than their real meaning. Their goals should be evident in the actions of these so-called "professors", as they twist young minds w/ twisted re-definitions, and shut down free speech, because they are "offended" by depictions of Marxism.

NastevilsBack: This is great news: America's youth protesting the practices and tendencies of those who, in THEIR youth, protested on college campuses across the country. I love the irony of American Statists and Marxists getting a serving of what they've dished out to the rest of us for decades. All of those "Question Authority" bumper stickers have begun to fade and sunbleach as soon as their owners got tenure on campus. Perhaps we should start selling them again?
