Fort Hood, Texas Shooting: sorting out the tragedy Video

First, my sympathies to the families and people directly and indirectly harmed during the Fort Hood Shooting. Watching that unfold was difficult and confusing. Let's sort out what happened on Thursday, because I'm still confused about what happened and why.

If so, then Christianity is the cause for the Oklahama city bombing since Timothy James McVeigh was a Roma Catholic. PrincessMiller: Terrorist are the enemies not the muslim faith. They just happen to be muslim. Sadly our country is turning its back on itself. We are all suppose to have the freedom to believe as we please yet we judge and tease those who believe differently from us. I think we need to look at ourselves before casting any type of judgement on anyone else. My heart and prayers go out to the victims.

JH1776Publius: I agree with Zenniewe must not jump to conclusions. Lets wait for more information before we call this radical Islamic terrorist a radical Islamic terrorist. All we know right now about this poor, misguided man who just snapped because he was under a lot of pressure is: 1. He is a Muslim 2. He has expressed terrorist sentiments to friends. 3. He gave away his belongings, thus proving premeditation. 4. He yelled God is Great in Arabic as he gunned down innocent unarmed people.

JH1776Publius: And now a few comments on The Great Leaders press conference, 3 hrs after the shooting, Arrogant...Insensitive...Callous...Unfeeling...Inexperienced...in way over his head. My reaction to The Great Leaders remarks...I am almost unable to form a complete sentence to describe this unbelievable reaction to the shooting of 43 Americans. Shame!

CoMpAxEl: Muslim *extremists* who believe they must kill all infidels are the problem, NOT all Muslims. The fact that people are too quick to assume and generalize is the problem. Together what do we have: human ignorance---that is the problem. Therein lies the difficulty of this whole ignorant issue...*sigh*.

JH1776Publius: According to an NPR report, the staff at Walter Reed speculated amongst themselves that Hasan might be a terrorist based on the things he was saying. In the aftermath of the shooting, the staff has been instructed to speak to no one but the Army about Hasan. They were specifically instructed NOT to talk to the FBI. The concern is people investigating might decide warning signs were missed. Ya think?

jtuds: If it is true that this guy had tried to contact suspected terrorists in the Middle East, and they knew and did not apprehend him, there are some very serious problems with the leadership, training, and decision making in America's intelligence organizations.

JH1776Publius: The No. 1 lesson of the Fort Hood massacre is that political correctness kills; it is the handmaiden of terrorism, and a tool of the left. JH1776Publius: What we are pointing out is that this is another example of the PC Police trying to Medicaliz Terrorism. Someone who shouts "Allahu Akbar" (the "God is great" jihadist battle cry) and then begins shooting up a room of American soldiers just might have Islamist motives. It certainly was a surprise to the mainstream media, which spent the weekend after the Fort Hood massacre downplaying Nidal Hasan's religious beliefs."

mbleek2001: Great job Zennie. Religion should not be brought up because Islam does not permit the killing of anyone. The guy went nuts and did what a lot of other Americans did and that is mass shooting. The only difference is because its the army that is all. There was another mass shooting the next day after Fort hood and no one mentioned that man's religion. Zennie you should be on tv buddy.

JewishRepublican: Zennie, I think you need to wait to see what other evidence comes up. Your theory does not make sense. To become a psychiatrist you have to pass many emotional type tests. I might assume that he had to pass more stringent ones due to his position in the army. Furthermore you discard any possibility that this was an act of terrorism. I believe this was an act of a terrorist. And I am using the word believe because I do not want to jump to conclusions until there is more evidence.
