ebaymotorssucks: Another high profile eBay auction wrecked by a deadbeat bidder! I think the Chief should sue this deadbeat. Go to my site and read my latest blog post on the subject. See how another eBay seller sued a social security worker AND Garnished her paycheck at Christmas time! Donahoes Deadbeats, Next On Geraldo.. LOL!
GoodbyeEbay: You can't tell me the 'winner' didn't know exactly what he was doing. Everywhere you look you see horror stories about auctions ruined by scammers and deadbeat NPBs. Record levels. The high profile stuff is a magnet for fraud and LOL bidders and ebay loves it that way. You can also see that PP required thing is nothing but a joke. Even IF they pay, Paypal is the least safe way with the chargeback fraud and hacked accounts constantly.
ebaymotorssucks: This "sport bidder" Clayton Adler, Adler, 24, is a vice president of ExecTech in Cupertino, CA. The bid history clearly shows Adler placed only 1 bid of $10,099.99 a day before the auction ended, and was not proxy bid up as he is claiming. It's all over on my site if anyone wants to look, plus a good video done by CBS news.
cappnonymous: Wow! I see that. Good catch. f***s (53) $10,099.99 Nov-04-09 12:51:07 PST I hope people out there look further. Considering all we know about things, there is no telling what else we may find. Thanks Doc
cappnonymous: I've added a link to that in the (more info) area so that folks can see that for themselves.
crazeenydriver: eBay will somehow blame the seller as they did with Marlyn Monroe's crypt. I called eBay 5x today, a new record for me. Nothing positive came from any of the calls.
cappnonymous: Hello Joe, thanks for watching & commenting. LOL, that would be par for the course. Interesting to note that they required Paypal, which did nothing. Also it looks as though the 'winner' is still a member in good standing.
cappnonymous: Hey Doc, found out the 'winner's' user ID -- "claysstuff". It was posted on a wcco com website. Shows as active member. 100% feedback. The chief may not like it when he comes to realize you can't neg a deadbeat, even for 10K or 4.6 Million. lol
ebaymotorssucks: I see "claysstuff" is an active 100% BS eBay member! I bet he has faded some major heat at work.. Any word whether the city of Proctor is filing suit? I emailed chief Wobig a couple of times but didn't get a reply. Will have to shoot him another email tagged with read notify.
cappnonymous: Well, I suppose ebay has given their official blessing to sport bidders and /or LOL bidders and told the world they approve of that sort of thing through their actions/inactions.
GoodbyeEbay: The DWI chair is going back on ebay for the 3rd time. It was in the news a couple days ago.
ebaymotorssucks: Hahahaha.. More listing fees for eBay! Id be willing to bet they get stiffed again. LOL!
cappnonymous: I'm willing to bet you are right. Reading around to some of the reports about that, I see in comment areas that folks are generally not thrilled. I bet the LOL bidders, sport bidders and , dare I say, *revenge bidders* will be waiting for that one. Good Luck there Chief Wobig. Maybe you should just give the old guy his chair back, eh?
ebaymotorssucks: I think ole Chief Wobig is waiting for after Christmas to relist it for the 3rd time, there will be more kids with Christmas computers to increase the LOL factor... I give him credit for letting the whole world know where Proctor MN is. I can see it now.. "Proctor MN Home Of The eBay Deadbeat Bidders La-Z-Boy DWI Chair" LOL!!!
cappnonymous: After the epic 4.6 M Marilyn crypt, the dwi fail chair, the record collection deadbeats and all the rest, I would say that there is every chance that any high-profile item on ebay will be ruined by LOL seekers. Since ebay lets anyone sign up as many IDs as they want, there is nothing to stop them. It is a new sport. Couple that with the animosity towards eb these days from all the insane policy changes... I'd say that eb viability as a reputable venue for such items is ZERO.
