Come Back To Me- Chapter 21- Home? Video
Joseph gazed dimly at his mother and father, scared, and lonely. His greatest desire was to simply stay where he was, but apparently (according to his parents) that was out of the question.
"Mom.." Joe sighed, his eyes imperceptibly stinging, and his throat parched.
"C'mon sweetie, we can bring the rest of your stuff later." Denise smiled, wrapping a tender arm around her son's shoulders.
Joe was growing indignant, but nodded, standing up and following his father to the door.
"Wait!" he exclaimed, "I need to say goodbye to Lily."
"Make it quick." Denise rushed.
He sped over to Lily, who was frozen.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, pulling her body close to his. He never wanted to let go, and admired the moment.
"I'll come and visit anytime." Lily grinned.
"Yeah, but it's like an hour drive back to Jersey." Joe grumbled.
"That's not far." Lily encouraged, smoothing out his hair gently.
"I need to do something first.." Joe smirked.
"Hmm?"
"I've been waiting for the right time, but I don't think it'll get much better than this." he muttered, then softly pushed a strand of Lily's hair behind her ear, kissing her strawberry lipglossed lips.
Lily stood perplexed, but finally deepened the kiss, licking Joe's bottom lip.
"EWW! Get a ROOM!" Nick squealed.
"Shut up." Joe grunted, still not pulling away from Lily.
"You know.. You're exchanging saliva." Nick chuckled.
"Ugh! You RUIN everything!" Joe complained, finally breaking the kiss.
'It wasn't very romantic, but you can't have everything, right?' he thought, staring at Nicholas in complete disgust. Lily couldn't help, but giggle, pecking Joe lightly.
"I'll miss you, now hurry before your Dad gets frustrated." she urged.
"Bye." Joe grinned toothily, blushing slightly, and walking to his parents. Nick followed and waved to Lily.

The drive home seemed boundless. Joseph, rested his head against the cold window. Winter was closer and closer. The leaves precipitated along the sidewalk. To be honest, Joseph missed New Jersey. He was always touring and had only been home for about 3 weeks, the ENTIRE YEAR. You would be homesick as well.
Nick gently convulsed Joe's shoulder.
"Hmm?" he mumbled, not breaking eye contact with the scraping cement.
"I need to tell you something.." Nick muttered, sudden nervousness appearing upon his features.
"What is it?" Joe urged, not even glimpsing at Nick.
"Well.. Umm... Kevin and Danielle called it off.. The marriage.. And now Kevin lives alone.. It's just been Mom, Dad, Frankie, Big Rob, Elvis, and I." Nick explained.
Joe immediately went silent, but he smiled at the thought of being able to see Frankie and Elvis again. Frankie wasn't able to go on the past tour, so he was staying with their aunt.. But now.. He was HOME, with Big Rob.
He wondered if they were anxiously waiting for him, or not.
"How's Elvis doing?" Joe whispered, listening to the wind outside drone.
"He's great, but he misses playing soccer with you.. I can tell." Nick smirked, trying to lighten Joe's mood.
But how would you feel if you were diagnosed with heart disease? If your own brother DESPISED you to the CRUST? Not very pleasant I suppose.
"Awesome." Joe breathed, tracing the rain drops that were just beginning to tumble.

Joe dragged his feet along the driveway, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his jacket. He looked up at the house, it barely looked different.
Nick ran up behind him, ringing the doorbell frantically.
"Hey, little man, take it easy." Big Rob slightly chuckled.
"JOEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!" Frankie screamed, hopping into Joe's arms.
"Hey man, I missed you." Joe smiled, ruffling his light brown hair.
Joseph made a full examination of Frankie. He had grown taller, and his hair had grown out a significant amount.
"You got so big." Joe grinned, suddenly feeling guilty for not being around at ALL.
"Yeah! And guess what?!" Frankie screeched.
"What!?" Joe shouted, pretending to be very interested.
"I got the new Nintendo Dsi." He hollered, grasping his brother even tighter, which Joseph didn't think was possible at this point.
"Frankie buddy.. Can't breathe." Joe choked, chuckling.
"Sorry!" he shrieked, "Did I hurt you? Mom and Dad said you were really sick." he cried, tears starting to run out of his eyes.
"Shh.. Yeah, I'm fine now buddy. I had to go to the doctor and get medicine, but I'm alright." Joe assured, wiping Frankie's tears as he held him in his arms.
"Ugh, You've gotten heavier too." Joe joked playfully. Nick and Frankie giggled.
Mom and Dad came in, carrying bags. Joe instantly ran over to help, but they insisted that he not carry anything heavy right now.
Joe sighed, he hated feeling useless. He hated the feeling when people around him were doing everything, and he was doing nothing. It made him feel weak. It made him feel like a tragically
Sick person.
