Demensions - Just A Shoulder To Cry On - Rare Doo Wop Ballad Video

Great sound by The Demensions. This classic doo wop sound is a departure from their usual big band fare.

chezfun: Excellent!
13loomisst: This is nice. I know the tune because the Hi-Fives did it on the flip of Dorothy. Thanks very much.
TheRickynow: Just wonderful PJ! Instant favourite for me!
garybrown57: fantastic nice slow and dreamy it's wonderful another ace one pj!!!! gazza uk
MRDOOWOP1: So Smooth great doo-wop n1 pj
lesgore54: You're right, PJ. Their recording career was unbalanced and odd as the cover picture on their "My foolish heart" Coral lp. It was supposed to be 'classy', I guess, but it's just odd. Guess, MCA didn't know what do with them, and that's not a unique story there, is it? By '63, I guess this type of song seemed outdated. We like it, though...
MrHalfox: Nice! I like this one! I didn't know they did this version other than the Hi-Fives version! Thanks again for your very fine collection and letting us hear some of it here!
PJDooWop: You're absolutely right.. Both are great versions, but they're quite different in their own right
PJDooWop: You're right. The Demensions were lost in time at this point. Doo wop was still hitting the charts in '63, but the classic doo wop was getting watered down by pop. It's just a shame that The Demensions had to wait so late into their career to put out such a heavy doo wop ballad.. This probably would have been a huge hit in '61. The Demensions were a R&R group all the way (check out One More Chance). Irving Spice of Mohawk records has a lot to do with the musical personna they took on.
PJDooWop: You're welcome. There is much more to come
13loomisst: I just listened to the Hi-Fives' version for the first time in a long time, and for what it's worth, I think I prefer this one, by the Demensions.
PJDooWop: I like both, but I've always preferred this one.
