The Lake ep. 23: Making Music Together Video

Episode 23:
Nicks POV
Miley sat quietly next to me at the piano as I worked on the song I had written early. I had all the notes written out and I was constantly making changes. Miley had told me that it was perfect the way it was but after a while she stopped telling me that. She always said I was stubborn, but so is she. I kept finding myself going back to the original words and notes. I knew she noticed because of the look in her eyes. I read over the paper that sat in front of me and sighed. The notes and words were exactly the same as when I started. I heard a faint giggle coming from the girl beside me. I slouched in my seat and looked at her. She had that I told you so look in her eyes. I could read her eyes like an open book and I knew she could do the same with me. Its how we got away with a lot of things. She seemed to have sensed my annoyance because she looked down at the keys and played a few notes. I had taught her how to play a few years ago. I placed my hands back on the keys and played the same notes. I watched as she smiled and played a different set of notes. We kept going as she played different sets of notes and I mimicking them. We were soon going in a pattern and I began adding words. She was soon caught on to the words and sang along. Shed sing and play and I would sing and play the same thing. I could tell that she was trying to hold in her giggles and she wasnt doing such a great job at it. I had trouble, too. I enjoyed these times. Weve done it so many times before. She had a beautiful voice. I just wish she would use it more often. The song came to a close and she put her hands in her lap as I started playing a familiar tune. I watched as she shifted in her seat excited as I played one of her favorite songs that Ive written. She was quick to start singing along.
Nick: I woke up on my roof with my brothers
Miley: There's a whale in the pool with my mother
Nick: And my dad paints the house different colors
Miley/Nick: Where would we be, if we couldn't dream?
We both loved this song. After a while I could tell she was becoming uncomfortable from sitting on the hard bench for so long. I was honestly becoming uncomfortable too and was longing for the comfort of my bed.
Miley: {looks down at the keys and gently runs her finger over them} Hey Nick
Nick: Hmm?
Miley: Can you teach me how to play guitar? {looks up with a shy look on her face}
Nick: {smiles} Of course
Miley: {smiles}
Nick: Come on
We both got up and hurried upstairs to my room. I grabbed another guitar from the corner of my room and sat down. For the next few hours I went over the basics. Every time she would get something wrong she would get so frustrated. She looked like a little kid when her building blocks keep falling down.
Miley: {sighs} I cant get it.
I took the guitar and set it to the side. I then wrapped my arms around her tiny waist and pulled her onto my lap. I grabbed the guitar and placed it in her hands. I rested her hands where they needed to be and showed her once again how to play it. She nodded her head as I took my hands away and tried again. She squealed with delight when she got it right and a huge smile spread across her face.
Miley: I did it {turns around and hugs Nick} Thank you
Nick: {chuckles}
Miley: {rests her head on his shoulder and yawns}
Nick: Tired
Miley: {shakes her head} No {yawns again}
Nick: Are you sure because it sure sounds like it. {pulls out of the hug revealing a sleepy Miley}
Miley: {sighs} Ok. Maybe Im a little tired but Im having fun.
Nick: {looks at the clock on the dresser} Its 10 oclock
Miley: {turns her head to look at the clock} Really? Wow! How did that happen?
Nick: {shrugs} All I know is that I need to get you home.
Miley: {sighs} Fine, but youll teach me some more tomorrow, right?
Nick: {smiles softly} Of course. Now come on.

Here you go guys. Happy 4th of July. I know it's rather late, or at least it is here, but who cares. It's all Niley. I know you guys like that. I have another Niley idea in my head and it's really cute. The next one might be a little delayed or until I get some inspiration. Not sure I spelled that right, to lazy to check.
