Sri Lankan Army commemorates 60th Anniversary 10/10/2009 Video

Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya is optimistic that President Mahinda Rajapaksas name will be written in gold in the great chronicles of Sri Lanka for the unflinching leadership given in achieving the historic victory which amazed the entire world.
The Army Commander recalled that the Presidents exemplary courage and dedication was instrumental in achieving this victory. Even though the war has ended, the Army had to fulfill further responsibilities in safeguarding this victory and extending assistance towards development to facilitate the resettlement of the displaced.
The Army Chief was addressing a ceremony to organize its 60th Anniversary. The Army is admired and recognised for its gallantry and military capability. There was a special military parade at the army headquarters to mark the event.
