CRAPCANNONS: i don't think this is occult `symbolism'. Would you say there is `occult symbolism' in From Hell? No. But it certainly was ABOUT occult symbolism. I think we are now entering a phase in the culture where all these debated issues, on YT and elsewhere, are finally being addressed. Plus, if you study on First Earth Battalion, the Mindwar Paper, etc, you'll see these men actively dabble in the occult, so it would be odd NOT to include it in the film, thematically or otherwise.

NewAmericaNow: It is interesting to note that goats are a major symbol of the pagan religions of old by being the representation of the gods of the forests. Because the major powerful religion of the time wanted to demonize the older religions, the papacy of christianity sought to make the goat the symbol of evil were it could in order to destroy the ancient belief systems.
