Mike Longo presents Annie Ross-Live Video

Recorded on 10/20/09 At the John Birks Gillespie Auditorium in the NYC Baha'i Center honoring Dizzy Gillespie's 92nd Birthday. The concert featured Mike Longo's 18 piece NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble with vocalist Hilary Gardner and special guests Jimmy Owens and Annie Ross. This clip represents Annie Ross singing a collaborative creation with Pianist Russ Freeman and Miss Ross called "Music is Forever."Accompanying Miss Ross is piano great Tardo Hammer. Pictured in the background is the NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble. On this particular night the theater was sold out. Jazz is performed there every Tuesday in honor of Dizzy Gillespie for whom the theater is named. It is located at 53 E. 11th St. (Between University Place and B'way.)The concert series is called "Jazz Tuesdays" and is produced by Mike Longo, Dizzy's former pianist and musical director.
