Mozart - Piano and Violin Sonata in D Major KV 7 - Menuet I & II mov. 3/3 Video

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791)

Sonata for Keyboard and Violin in D major, KV 7

3. Menuet I & Menuet II

Harpsichord: Blandine Verlet
Violin: Gérard Poulet

This composition is one of Mozart's earliest works. It's his second sonata for keyboard and violin, after K 6. The original manuscript is inside "Notenbuch für Maria Anna (Nannerl) Mozart", or simply Notebook for Nannerl (1759-1764). This book was designed by Leopold to teach music to her daughter, but it was also used by Wolfgang during his first years. Sonatas K 6 and K 7, which were Opus 1 in Leopold's private catalogue, are inside this book. The original manuscript for this Sonata is in the hand of Leopold Mozart and is dated Paris, 30 November 1763 (Wolfgang was then seven years old).
