Fujitec Traction Low Rise Elevators [Four Seasons New York] Video
These are the low-rise elevators at the Four Seasons, installed in 1993. Very smooth and it accelerates very gradually, making the ride much more comfortable - in neither this nor the high-rise elevators did I get that feeling I was being pushed into the floor until it reached full speed.
When I was holding open the doors it went into nudge mode - it's "alarm" jolted me enough to leave the cab! That will certainty get people to get out of the way! Worse that the Otis buzz. I also noticed that these have "classic" leveling - when the doors open the cab still levels 1 or 2 inches. It's more pronounced on the high-rise elevators. It's a nice feature but there is a considerable "step" when the doors open, and sometimes it doesn't level properly (see high-rise video). Still very nice.
