RUNNING DEEP Video

The greatest friends I have are because of skateboarding and those friendships run really deep. That is a fact. I met Vinny Ponte back when he was a 14 year old red-headed, brace-faced camper at Woodward Skate Camp in Pennsylvania and I was on my first tour as a Birdhouse pro with Tony Hawk, Jeremy Klein and Willy Santos. Since then I have been a witness to Vinny getting better at skating, getting sponsored, turning pro, traveling the earth, retire, go to college, work at a restaurant, open a skate shop and all the ups and downs and in betweens in between now and then. He is my true friend in the deepest and most sincere sense of the word and what I lack in ability to remember happy birthday's or Christmas cards or how ya doin phone calls I'm trying to make up for by introducing to him to you, the other finest persons on earth. -- sb
