The Pearl Fisher - A Gyöngy Halász Video

This recording was made back in 1986 on a WERSI Alpha DX300S Digital Electronic Organ/Synthesizer, the dawn of digital sampling, when analog technology was being replaced in electronics.

Digital sampling has come a long way since then, but even back then WERSI was in the forefront of this new era.

Sadly home video was in the same shoes back then, not very affordable yet, and not very high quality, so I only have a photo of the instrument, and not a video of me actually sitting and playing it.

The Alpha DX300S was available as a kit, at considerable discount from the factory assembled unit .. hence I opted to put it together myself in my spare time each evening. Upon completion it worked flawlessly at first power up.

The selection is of French origin, from Georges Bizet's opera and the translation is in Hungarian of "The Pearl Fisher" .
