I couldnt help but let my jaw drop when I heard selena confess. Everthing started to make sense. There was a brief silence, where all of us stared at Selena. I was really happy, cause Dad will see that I never lied, but on the other hand, I felt hurt. Sad. Disappointed. Why would Selena drug herself? But MOST important, why did SHE placed the evidence in MY dresser?
'Sweetie, you dont have to say it was you to cover Demi, 'Mandy said as she came near Selena. Does Mandy really thinks I drugged myself?! Dad didnt say a word. Not even to me.
'Im not lying. 'Selena said backing off from Mandy. At that moment, her moms sweet face started tuning into a confused one.
'NO sweetie, It was Demis remember? 'Mandy said and tried to place her hand on Selenas Shoulder, but selena yanked it away. She was scaring me. That wasnt the Mandy I once knew.
'IT was ME. I OWNED the drugs mom. 'Selena said. Her voice sounding secure and strong.
'Demi?' Dad FINALLY said to me, but unfortunately, my head was creating a whole story about what happened. I couldnt believe Selena. I glared at her. She looked hurt, but how did she thnks I felt when I was sent to the other part of the word for something I NEVER did?
'Demi, please its not what youre think-'
'Save it 'I said and went outside beeing followed by dad. I haven realized that tears were coming out of my eyes. Right now, they seem to be the ones I can trust in. I felt betrayed. Betrayed by the ones I love the most. Thats the excact word of how I felt.
Betrayed by my dad who didnt believe me 6 months ago. Betrayed by my best friend, who didnt even bothered telling the truth to save her ass even when mine was in the game. Betrayed by the love of my life, who told me hell wait for me. The one who told me that I was the only one, but no has a Girlfriend. I was better in Switerland, where I had NO news about anyone or anything.
'Demi, Im really sorry 'dad said. I' whouldve listened to you.' I wanted to scream at him to make him feel as bad as I felt, but Im not that kind of person. I allowed him to hug me, and I hug back. He looked at me.
'Dems, you look so different. 'He said smiling at me. I sighted.
'Yeah, just like here.' I said and looked down.
'What do you mean sweetie?'
'I mean- Nothing.' I said and made a small smile.
'You look so much like your mom with that hair..' He said and that just made me even sadder. I looked back and saw Mandy yelling at Selena. Selena was crying.
'Let me help you carrying this to your room', dad said refering to my bag. I smiled at him and we went inside the house.
'WHY do you keep comparing me with HER?! 'That was the first thing I heard when I went inside the house.
'MOM, I never NEVER took the drugs! I just OWNED them! 'Selena yelled at Mandy who wasnt listening to her.
'And why were you keeping them huh?! To take them later?!' Mandy said and slammed a book in the nearest table. That made me give a litle jump. Dad placed the bag in the floor, kissed my forehead and went to his room. I heard more sounds coming from downstairs, and then someone slammed a door. I moved my bag inside my dresser and opened the zipper to start unpacking. Inside my dresser, all I could see was pictures EVERYWHERE. Pictures of me and mom, pctures of Joe and me, Pictures of my friends, and in ALL of them, everyone appeared laughing. I grabbed one, my favourite from all of them. It was a picture of me and Joe, looking at each other. I could see LOVE in his eyes. We really did love each other. I still do. I was going to start crying again, when I heard footsteps coming upstairs. Selena came in the room crying with mascara in her cheeks.
'Demi?' She said. I didnt know what to do, how to talk to her. She betrayed me, just like the others. And just to make it better, my phone started ringing...
