buckeyefan05: Wow, you asking Joe Lieberman to do the right thing for his constituents is like asking Fox News to based their reporting on facts. I mean seriously, they call Lieberman the Senator from Aetna for a good reason. Me being Liberal who went away from the Democraticu Party this bill was severely weakened by the Blue Dogs, and the leadership in the party. Especially when the took the Kucinich Amendment out of the bill
dbkap: Right on Zennie!
captcaveman4201: you nuts if you think that Lieberman will do anything right for the people.. He could care less if everyone in CT died tommorow.. As long as he is still around.. He is probabally the most self centered man in the world right now.. People in CT are litterally dying because they are not receiving medical care that they should be getting.. Blackmailing the people of CT with an energy policy that works against the people, Lieberman is an ENEMY OF AMERICA. And should have to pay for his crimes..
JH1776Publius: Let me get this straight. We have a federal program that has become a bigger income generator for criminals than the sale of cocaine, and we want to expand it. Did you happen to catch the 60 Minutes report on Medicare, I hope you did. Steve Krofts report exposed $60 billion (not a typo--thats a B) in Medicare fraud each year. Gee I thought that one of the benefits of Medicare was its low administrative costs.
JH1776Publius: You see its easy to have low administrative costs when you are spending other peoples money, an advantage that private insurance companies dont have. The regulator cant compete against the regulator; go ahead remind me about how implementing government run health care will increase competition. The government competes the same way as Tony Soprano, and those who are stupid, ignorant or uninformed enough not to realize that are the reason we are in this mess.
JH1776Publius: 60 Minutes and the Washington Post reported that Medicare fraud costs American taxpayers roughly $60 billion a year. What were the profits of the ten largest insurance companies in America? Just over $8 billion -- combined. Thats right, not one insurance company made even five percent of what Medicare reportedly loses in fraud. Go ahead and spin it
whatIsrelevant: JH1N1Dubious: "...it's easy to have low [admin] costs when...spending other peoples money, an advantage...private [insurers] ... don't have" Private insurers ARE spending other peoples' money: the ENTIRE purpose of insurance is the pooling of risk--paid for by large employers and individuals. 'Profits' do not account for the costs of fraud, lobbyists, and advertising. It's easy to have high profits by cherry-picking costumers, and removing high-risk indivduals from the pool of insureds.
whatIsrelevant: The health care industry is a 6th of the US economy. I'm surprised ALL proposed bills don't have MORE than 2000 pages. IF ANY bill proposed to reform healthcare provided quality coverage for all Americans, regardless of income or medical status, could be attained at the price of only $200 Billion, then WE'LL TAKE IT! I don't care if it's administered by a THOUSAND bureaucracies. At prices so low, you can't afford to say no! All you've got are simple answers; there are NO simple solutions.
whatIsrelevant: The insurance industry takes people's money, and then drops them from coverage if they get sick. THAT'S INSURANCE FRAUD! How many billions did the insurance industry make last year DENYING CLAIMS?
whatIsrelevant: You MUST be out of your CHERRY-PICKING 'mind'! Sort through those apples and oranges, and you will find that: a) almost ALL of Medicare's services are administered by PRIVATE CONTRACTORS, including insurance carriers, claims processors, AND fraud investigation units, and not by government bureaucrats; b) that APPLES are not the same as ORANGES; c) that you have failed yet again to prove ANYTHING BUT your IMPOTENCE in the face of facts. Good luck with that, MR. JH1776Foolius!
conspiracon2000: Those aren't facts that you're pulling out of your ass, they're turds. You father is a retard and so are you.
JH1776Publius: Clown reach into your pocket, pull out a dollar and go out and buy yourself a clue. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is the federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with state governments to administer Medicaid. CMS Establishes all of the guidelines that any privet contractor, like a private insurance co., must follow.
JH1776Publius: Well then why dont you try to dispute them you spam sucking, conspiracy believing freak-a-zoid. Youre another one who needs to go down the free clinic and get your meds adjusted. More like a good strong dose of Thorazine.
JH1776Publius: Here is a good one for you; HHS admitted yesterday that they overstated the availability of flu-vaccine. Can you imagine if it were the Bush Administration, they would be above the fold in the NY Slimes: "Two top officials at the Dept. of Health and Human Services acknowledged today to a congressional panel that the govt. had overpromised and made poor judgments on vaccination production against the current H1N1 flu pandemic." And these are the clowns who you want to take over health care.
whatIsrelevant: Here's the actual headline from Leslie Wayne's article in yesterday's New York Times: "FDA Fighting False Online Claims About Swine Flu Treatments." Surprisingly, this article was not a report of the many recent nefarious misdeeds of "JH1776Publius" on YouTube. In fact, it relates the problem of predatory capitalists selling phony flu medicine to unsuspecting citizens. Ahhh, the free market at work! And no, we've never said we'd favor the the New York Times taking over the health care system.
JH1776Publius: Here is the headline from yesterdays Washington times: HHS admits overstating flu-vaccine availability, Health officials refuse to offer new estimates. Two top officials, Dr. Thomas Frieden, (CDC) director of prevention and Dr. Nicole Lurie, (HHS) assistant secretary for preparedness and response acknowledged to a congressional panel Wednesday that the government had overpromised and made poor judgments on vaccination production against the current H1N1 flu pandemic.
JH1776Publius: My satirical comments as to how the Bush administration would have been treated by the NYT had they screwed up the way barrys boys did was spot on. I realize that youre getting all excited about the prospect of getting another free hand out which is why you didnt pick up on my reference to HHS being charged with running the national health care system, not the NYT. You really should work on your critical reading skills.
1sondra: He is the king of double - cross. I have got my eye on this guy. It's all about Joe's world. F Joe is what I say. We are one of the worst in health care. We are America! Why are we near the bottom? If your an American, You deserve health care. We get nothing for our tax dollars and all we ask is for a few simple things like healthcare, protection of country( When not a scam) and rights, education, jobs, and a few others. Why can't we, as America, Get what we deserve? We work and for what?
JH1776Publius: Harry Reed said yesterday that Forcing People to Buy Health Insurance is Constitutionally Justified Because Its like Making People Sign Up for the Draft. Hunh. I wonder what SCOTUS will have to say about that. Thanks Drones! ROTFLMAO!
