Ice Cube - It Was a Good Day
Showbiz & A.G. - Next Level (instrumental)
All songs copyright goes to their original owners. Also comment and rate.
fleshnbone187: I took songs from albums that nearly made the list, and It Was a Good Day is a CLASSIC song. No doubt about that. The final one was just a quick instrumental put for the last thirty songs.
773SleepyHollow: Fair enough... I'll grant that "It Was a Good Day" is a classic song for some, but it never did much for me. ("Wicked" is my favorite Ice Cube song.)
kok150: you forgot The Chronic 2001 by Dr.Dre
fleshnbone187: Not really, some of the songs are among Dre's best works ever but then since the album is around 20 tracks long, there are some songs that I struggle to listen to. With The Chronic, all songs are likable and the funky beats are simply unforgettable.
JamMastaJeremy: Great list, there's a lot I haven't heard on here so now I'll be sure to check em out. A couple that I feel are missing from your list are: Capital Punishment Stakes is High The Lost Tapes 93 Til Infinity Don't Sweat the Technique Organized Konfusion Life After Death A Piece of Strange Buhloone Mindstate Let the Rhythm Hit Em The Black Album Things Fall Apart and The College Dropout
fleshnbone187: Capital Punishment - was close but there's something that I didn't like there which prevented it. Stakes is High-never been a huge De la fan. Lost Tapes-only official albums. 93 til Infinity-mainly the title track is memorable. Don't sweat the tech- a couple of boring 'soft' songs ruined it somehow. Organized konfusion-never heard it. Life after death-fillers make it a tough listen (why i didn't include All Eyez on Me).
fleshnbone187: ...Piece of Strange- never listened to Cunnynlinguists. Buhloone- the album only had two or three songs i liked, just not into De la, you see. Let the Rhythm Hit em- would probably make it, but it doesn't live up to its predecessors quality which underrates it. Black Album-some songs are skippable. Things Fall Apart-I only have Illadelph by Roots. College Dropout- hahahahaha.
JamMastaJeremy: K, but you should definitely check out Organized Konfusion, A Piece of Strange, and Things Fall Apart. Especially Organized Konfusion, which is in my opinion better than Stress: The Extinction Agenda. And also, idk why you're laughing at The College Dropout. Half of the albums you have on your list are worse than it.
fleshnbone187: I'll be sure to check them out. But I never understood the hype behind College Dropout. There are a couple of good songs and that's it. Name some albums you would take out from the list, just want to see... (apart from Straight outta Compton which you for some reason have some bias against).
JamMastaJeremy: Here are the worst albums on the list in my opinion: Bigger and Deffer (3 mics) Cypress Hill (3) Whut Thee (3) I Wish My Brother George Was Here (3.5) Tical (3.5) E 1999 Eternal (3.5) Stillmatic (3.5) Enta Da Stage (3.5) All are much worse than The College Dropout. I'm not biased against Straight Outta Compton, I just think that the lyrics are monotonous and they require no skill. It was bold back in 1988, which is why it was considered classic, but the actual music isn't very good.
fleshnbone187: I can understand why you would rate E 1999 & Stillmatic average. But the others are easily classics for me. For me I would probably give TCD 3 stars.
tyron262: WUT BOUT 400 DEGREEZ-JUVE
Zmw192: good list
GROB410: illmatic, only bulit for cuban linx and gza should be 1,2 and 3 other then not a bad list also where is showbiz & AG,O.C. Jewelz,NaS it was written,La the darkman Heist of the century.Royal fkush ghetto Millioniare CNN war report,Masta Ace A Long Hot Summer,Heltah Skeltah and Diamond & Psychotic Neurotics Stunts, Blunts & Hip-Hop,Nocturnal thats all I could think of of the top.
fleshnbone187: In case you didn't notice the albums are in chronological list not ranked, the only thing we know is these 100 albums rank in top 100. As for the ones you mentioned, they simply aren't good enough. But most of them are close.
GROB410: Ahh I dont know son O.C jewlez is better then his word life lp,and Showbiz &AG Runaway Slave and Good Fellas are better then alot of joints on here, but hey we all have our opinions.
fleshnbone187: i'm pretty sure runaway slave is in this list. Just check out @ 4:17
pacrox2: i have most of these albums on my top 250 list. i go past 2001 i dont know why u stopped there
cookiesncreme99: *5 stars* finally someone puts Eazy-Duz-It in their list.
cookiesncreme99: wheres: Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design, Dr. Dre - 2001, Big Pun - Capital Punishment, The Notorious B.I.G - Life After Death, Nas - It Was Written, etc.
MobHeataEnt: i liked your list, its not as bias as other lists like from vh1 or mtv, this pretty legit
fleshnbone187: appreciate it, but how do you mean it when you mention bias?
MobHeataEnt: the list has many artists feat from both east and westcoast whereas on vh1 or mtv its mostly east coast, however u are missing some artists such as do or die, twista's adrenaline rush, the geto boyz, how you gonna go without big pun, and a few artists from the bay area.
fleshnbone187: Yep, I was considering having some albums from the Bay Area like Spice 1 but in the end there was too much. I tried to be 'favoring' the west coast on this one and at first planned to put some more, but fuck it, the east simply has too much to offer. As for the Geto Boys, I'm pretty sure I would have put two of their albums in this list had I made it now. (Geto Boys and We Can't Be Stopped). Thanks for dropping by.
timothy666: Props for including Lifestylez of da Poor and Dangerous. Mad niggas have slept on that album for faaaar too long.
