AScannerClearly: Neat stuff, I love the shape of the lead bricks they use to shield themselves! One thing that bugs me is when they use units like Megabecquerels instead of curies (and likewise when it comes to Radon, Picocuries instead of becquerels), just seems like a total needless use of an excessively large unit combined with a prefix than necessary considering the existence of the other unit that is more scale-appropriate. I hope I'm not the only one annoyed by that lol.

bionerd23: hmm, well, i like the becquerel; one decay a second, one bequerel, it makes sense. also, you dont always have THAT high activities... so what would you suggest? Bq for lower acitvities, Ci for higher activities? i mean, just think of our source disks - MICROcurie - that's just as silly as MEGAbecquerel, but in the opposite direction. ;)

bionerd23: yeah, a lot of people have radiophobia... on the other hand, this is one of the few jobs (medical-technical radiology assistant) where an average of three jobs are on offer for ONE graduate! i guess it's because most people would be too scared for this kind of work. personally, i live by the quote from marie curie: "nothing in life is to be feared. it is only to be understood". =)
