Morello claims that the photos were taken from inside of an office at Microsoft Headquarters, adding that his initial reasoning for snapping a few pics was to share the existence of a new Battle Rifle with the MLG community.

The biggest question that still remains, is whether or not this game will feature the return of Master Chief as a playable character. As you can see in the image below, it does appear that the hand shown topside up does have similar plated armor to that of Master Chief. Of course it could just be a random Spartan.
